I beefed up my summer course load and plan to take MAT 118, COM 102, and IVY 104, all online. Anyone else taking these?
i received the worst news today. i got up the nerve to call the nursing department in gary and they told me that their letters would not be sent out until "sometime" in november!!!!! can u even believe it? all this time i been freaking out waiting at my mailbox for no reason. unbelievable!i need a drink:grn::beer:
best wishes.
nursenessa,
i'm so sorry to hear that:icon_hug: have they considered..........
that doesn't give you very long to go to the info session, register for classes, make arrangements for children, get all the shots you need and get a background check and drug screening; all while still attending school full time. oh let's just throw in thanksgiving, christmas and new years while were at it!

i guess they haven't but i sure have:nono:! can you imagine trying to do all of that in a short amount of time? i wish i had friends in the nursing dept! i would say my blood pressure is pretty much through the roof!:angthts:
i have not been able to think about anything else.
UGH they moved my med term thread to general nursing when I didn't want responses from other people! Just people from Ivy Tech!
I will ask in here then...
I had to drop English due to the ridiculous amount of work they required for 12 weeks...so I picked up med term online. Can anyone tell me what to expect for it? Homework wise and maybe discussion board wise? Just curious.
"Hey Mom!
When did they say the letters would go out, and then when did you receive your?:typing"
The letters went out I believe the day they were supposed to and I got mine a few days later.
I know there were a couple other campuses in the fall that had a pretty long wait. Richmond, I believe, was one of them.
The nursing dept at Lawrence is pretty good and on top of things. So far, at least.
I would guess in November or December, going by my when my friend went to hers. SpacyStacy???????????? Help...can you give us a better time frame for orientation????????????
I'm skipping ahead without reading if anyone has answered this or not... so ignore me if it's been answered. I applied in May (to Columbus) and got my letter in the middle of June. They sent theirs out two weeks late. In fact, I just pulled the letter our and it is dated June 4th but I know I got it the second week. At any rate, the date given for the first orientation was July 15 and the second orientation was Aug. 19. We had to let them know whether we were accepting the spot or not by June 20th. So really you get a week or two to decide... for Columbus anyway. In the letter they will also send you a ton of info about shots, things you need to buy, criminal background check, etc. I can imagine your orientation dates would be November/December-ish.
Hope I helped and GOOD LUCK!!!! You'll have to let me know when your orientation dates are and I can come find you!! Also, with 205pts, I highly doubt you'll have trouble getting into Columbus!!

thank you to those who called lawrence and posted that info--makes me feel just a tiny bit better, even though i really wanted the letter today! since i live in indy, i really thought that it might be here. get this--my husband even came home on his lunch (i was sleeping since i worked last night) to check the mail for me. when he came in to wake me and tell me there was no letter, he looked almost as bummed out as i felt. god love him--it's nice to have him here with me to suffer!!!!:heartbeat
to those of you that applied in gary--that sucks!!!! talk about playing with your emotions!
Hi, How did you like taking Math online? Was everything online? I'm interested in taking an online only course but it's at a different campuss than I my home campus. Will I have to travel to that campus to take the exams? Thanks for your time!
Hey :)
I took 050 in the classroom last semester but everything but tests was online. This semester I will be taking 118 completely online. All tests and assignments are online. For an online class you will almost never have to go to campus unless its a hybrid class. My math class this semester is at a different campus online.
I lied, sometimes you have to take proctored tests, but they are at your home campus.

I took math 111 online and the only time I had to go in was for a midterm and a final. This was through Richmond, but I did the tests at Lawrence in Indy. All the quizes were online. I realize that now 111 is not one of the co-requisites, but hopefully they will still take it.
While I was signing in for the final, I noticed that ANP 102 people from Terre Haute were signing in for a final. I had signed up for that class for the next semester, so I changed to Richmond for the 102 class. The Richmond class did everything on-line! Made it easier to get an A! Maybe that helps someone.
I am waiting for a letter from Indy, but I am on vacation till next week. I have the patience of Job though, so no prob bob.

Apparently if you take 111 by December they will still grandfather it in! I guess in 2009 you can no longer take it as a co req for nursing.

you are welcome! We need each other....I don't know about you guys' "Local" support groups, but I think it's hard for them if they haven't gone through it. I was talking to my husband last night, and he was like..."When are they supposed to be mailed?" I told him the 30th (which it was that day) so he wanted to know why I've been obsessively checking the mail for 2 at least 3 weeks now....I know YOU guys understand!!!!
