Prospective Student, Help!
Lisa, I am 39 and took my placement exam at Ivy Tech Spring 07. I had not even graduated from high school! I tested into all college level courses except math. I took a math class, took my GED and signed up for nursing pre req.'s If an old lady who never graduated or had seen the inside of a classroom for over 20 years can do it, YOU can do it. Follow your dreams! :wshgrt:

TEAS Test anyone?
test of essential academic skills:d most nursing programs require you take the teas before being admitted to their program.

TEAS Test--Study Buddy
I just took the TEAS twice. I specifically remember questions on momentum, force, and velocity for physics, but only a couple. I believe there was one geometry question. :thnkg: I hope that helps.

Fort Wayne Spring 09 ASN Applicants
Big T, I took the TEAS again today. My last score was a 78.8 (79). Can you believe that this time I got a 79.4 (79)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Didn't budge that score even one point. :wtosts:Everything I studied for I got a better score on. It was everything else that tripped me up this time! At least now I know I've done all I can. I'll let the chips fall where they may, and say a few prayers. If I don't get in, I will go to Saint Francis next semester. I'm curious how the semester goes for you, but I know you will be very busy. If you can give an update every now and then I look forward to it! Best of luck to you!:mnnnrsngrk:

TEAS test
Hi there! I just have one piece of advice. The more classes you take in Reading, Math, English, and Science, the more knowlege you will have to apply to the TEAS. I am not really strong in general science so it did me a world of good to take ANP 101 and 102 before I took the TEAS. Best of luck to you!

I will stop in the health sciences dept. tomorrow and ask again. I will be there anyway for Mirobiology. Tuesday is the last day before the deadline that I can retake the TEAS. Good luck starting classes tomorrow! Let us know how it's going for you. Oh, one more thing, can you tell me how long it took for you to get your acceptance letter?

Ivy Tech score to get in and program mean??
Hi Smile, I am applying to the ASN program this week. I have all A's on the pre req's, but only got a 79 (78.8 rounded up) on the TEAS. I considered taking it again, but the program chair said they will take the highest score of the TEAS, however, if I fail any portion of the retake, they won't consider either score! Scared me into just keeping my 202 points. It helped that a "reliable" source told me that historically the cutoff has never been above 200 at the Fort Wayne campus. Let's just hope I'm not applying with a bunch of smarty pants:p What campus are you applying to?

Thanks Deb, that really does help to know even if it is hearsay. Most everything I've "heard" through the grapevine has been true so far. Do you mind telling me how long it took for you to get your acceptance letter? Are you all finished with your co req's? Thanks a million!

Maybe I should move this to the Ivy Tech thread?

Fort Wayne Spring 09 ASN Applicants
I was just wondering if there are any applicants for the spring 09 semester? I will turn in my application on Monday and I'm freaking out! I have a total score of 202. I thought stressing over all the pre req's was more than I could take, but I am officially going bonkers now. I considered re-taking my TEAS to raise my score, but I talked with the ASN chair, and she said they will take the highest of the two, but if I fail any portion the second time, they won't take either score. I don't want to risk it, so I am gritting my teeth and applying with 202. Anyone out there with the same concerns or with any words of wisdom? Thanks!
