I beefed up my summer course load and plan to take MAT 118, COM 102, and IVY 104, all online. Anyone else taking these?

I am also awaiting my letter! I applied to Valpo and Gary. Good luck to all of us!*wine

23 days until the letters are mailed!

Sah, I know the feeling. It's been a little quiet around here (no doubt people around here are studying!)

I feel like I've worked so hard to get to this point that I need an easy semester. Lord knows, if I get in the program I'm not going to have as much time to lurk around here.

I looked up the classes for next semester, and I will be attending school Mon-Wed 8-3:50 and clinicals on Thursday from 6:30am-4:30pm! Right now I'm only in class Mon and Wed 9:30-2:50.......I'm on easy street*wine

It'll be back to business come January!!

I still lurk here, and even post every now and then. LOL Just about every ounce of my free time is spent studying. It's paying off though. I've done well on my first 2 tests so far.....It's very intense, but interesting at the same time.

Me too, Indymom. Glad you are doing well. Are you guys excited or scared for clinicals? I'm terrified. I just read a thread on here about nurses wanting to quit because they hate their jobs and not getting breaks. It's making me second guess myself.

You can't listen to other people's negativity. You're not doing yourself any favors.

The way I see it...we'll get through this our own way and have our own experiences. Then we'll pick our own jobs and we can then choose to enjoy that feeling we worked so hard for, or we can make ourselves miserable complaining about it all.

I'm trying to find the fun in nursing school...there has been a little so far. I've got some great classmates and instructors (so far!!!) and it's good for the moment.

I'm looking forward to clinicals. I want to get down to the nitty gritty and do actual patient care.

I'm also looking forward to clinicals but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous about it. I just hope my patient on my first day is very, very understanding. LOL.

I couldn't agree more. I work at a hospital here in Indy on a busy unit--some days are good, some days are bad. Sometimes we're so busy that you can hardly catch your breath. And just like every other job, there will be things that we hate and things that we love and make it all worthwhile. On a sidenote, some people are never happy, no matter what job they do. In the end, you have to figure it all out on your own. And sometimes it helps to ignore the negativity.

I am excited about clinicals and nursing classes. I know it's not fun, but I've been working for all these years (and through a prev. college degree) to make it to this point. I just want to dive in and get my hands dirty!!!!

Thanks for the reassurance. I'm trying to just block the negativity out but it's hard not to notice it sometimes. I am actually really enjoying lab. My classmates and instructors are awesome. We always have a good time.

Hey, I have a question about Pharmacology. We have to do drug cards and we have to list implications & nursing actions. I'm getting the two mixed up. Does anyone know what to put for them?

congratulations on those tests! that's how we get through, one test at a time.

best wishes to all of you who are in your first semester of nursing school!

i also can't wait to get down to the nitty gritty......i have visions of inserting my first iv!

sah, 20 days till the letters go out!

glad to hear everyone is doing well...it's definitely obvious that school has started!!! all that keeps going thru my head is Dorrie from "Finding Nemo"...'just keep swimmin, swimmin, swimmin, just keep swimmin..."

on our way >>>:nurse:
