I beefed up my summer course load and plan to take MAT 118, COM 102, and IVY 104, all online. Anyone else taking these?
I want to apply to the PT ASN program at Logan for fall 2009. Who should I contact at Logan to do that?
Hi Rachel!
I begin the PT ASN program in 5 days.
It's nice to meet someone on here that is close by. Have you started your pre reqs yet? Are you from Logan?
I would pm you the names but you have to have at least 15 posts to be able to receive pms.
We are not suppose to put full names on here. But her initals are M.H. Just go into the nursing office at Logan. On the windows there should be schedules for advising and you can sign up on her list. If there are no schedules up just go in and talk to the secretary, her desk is where you walk in. M.H. just got back from vacation on the 18th so she should be in there. The secretary is there until 4pm except on Friday when she leaves at noon. M.H. is the coordinator for Logan and Wabash. She is also the advisor for the ASN people.
I was told when I was being advised that they were not sure that this class would happen again, our class was kind of like a test to see how it went.
But, that was a year and half ago so the plan may have changed since then. So it would really be best to talk to the nursing office.
Please, let me know if I can help you with anything, or you need more info.I'd be glad to PM you more detailed info on the staff if you get your post count up to 15.
Hello! Is anyone here starting the ASN program in Columbus next week? My instructor has already posted the syllabus for NRSG 100 and I've began reading chapter 1 in the fundamentals book. So far so good.
After reading the replies about the pharm book... I think I need to bust open the plastic and get started on that!! I'm taking this class online and that freaks me out a little. Has anyone taken it online before? The only other option for face to face was Monday evenings and that doesn't work for me.
Anyway, it's great that this thread is here! I plan to use it often! Take care and good luck this semester!!
After I did my loan counseling, I got on Openet just to see what would happen and loe and behold, there was all my info for the fall/spring loans. I know they told us we wouldn't be using it this year but looks like they were wrong again. My disbursement date is 9/9.
What the heck? I still haven't received anything for my loan counseling. I called Ivy Tech Monday and she told me to keep waiting and I would probably get it later that day. Well, it's Thursday and still nothing. I still have no books and I'm really getting upset at this point. I called my lendor and they have no info for me. I called the gurantor and they have no info for me. ***!?!!?!

I found out I needed to do the loan counseling by checking status/student requirements in campus connect under financial aid. Once I accepted my loans it said I was required to complete loan counseling and gave me a link. Once the school had processed my loan counseling, I was able to check the status of my loans through Opennet. Hope that helps.
I was just wondering if there are any applicants for the spring 09 semester in Fort Wayne? I will turn in my application on Monday and I'm freaking out!
I have a total score of 202.
I thought stressing over all the pre req's was more than I could take, but I am officially going bonkers now.
I considered re-taking my TEAS to raise my score, but I talked with the ASN chair, and she said they will take the highest of the two, but if I fail any portion the second time, they won't take either score. I don't want to risk it, so I am gritting my teeth and applying with 202.
Anyone out there with the same concerns or with any words of wisdom?
Thanks!

I have never heard they wont take either.....you'd think they'd just take the highest regardless. I -think- you should be ok anyhow though. Good luck!
I beleive they take your highest score. I took the teas twice and am retaking it tomorrow. I scored an 84 and a 80. They said my 84 is still valid but I still want to get a higher score. I have a total of 207. I hope I get a better score tomorrow. But truthfully, I am so tired of stressing over it.:Crash:
Maybe I should call back and make sure? I was suprised by what she said too. Nursehopeful, what campus are you applying to?
A reliable source told me "off the record" historically, the cutoff has never been higher than 200 at Fort Wayne. She said that 202 was a good score.
IndyMom, thanks for the vote of confidence!
Seriously though......if you took it once and scored decently, the chance of you failing it if you take it again is probably slim. For one, you've seen what material is on the test, so you have a general idea even if they change it up a bit.
If you really feel like you need to take it again, go for it. I think your scores are good enough though, and you should save the 30 bucks! Have you looked around the site here to see what Ft. Wayne students were scoring this Fall to get accepted?
Hey all, I checked blackboard today and there is a message from our pharm teacher that the wrong books were given out at the bookstore and that we need to take them back and they are ordering the correct ones. Of coorifice your not supposed to open the wrapping until the first day for that reason exactly, however after hearing everyone complain about how hard that class is I already did and even highlighted some!!!!!! So now im out that money and have to buy the new one. Oh well-you live and learn. Maybe the material in the book I have will help me. Just venting..
