Ivy Tech Thread

Published

I beefed up my summer course load and plan to take MAT 118, COM 102, and IVY 104, all online. Anyone else taking these?

hee hee...yep it's a different book, Focus on Nursing Pharmacology 4e.

Bioterrorism??? Wouldn't think that be in the front of the book, the author must be a little paranoid.

Be careful with the question and answers at the end of each chapter. Some of the answers are incorrect and it was brought to the author's attention. Needless to say, it was very frustrating not to be able to trust using it as a study tool.

that's funny you say that because when i was doing the questions i have left three of them unanswered because i thought the answer in the back was wrong. good to know...thanks

Valpo is using the Introductory Clinical Pharmacology 8th edition. chapter 3 is arithmatic and drug calculations.. Ive only read the 1st chapter so far.. alot to take in.

Did my loan counseling Wed. evening. Stillll waiting to be able to click accept loan, wait 24 hours, and get my books.

Those of you who already have yours, I am soooo jealous. :(

This surely is a lesson in patience.

Did you just get an email on Campus Connect for the loan counseling? My loan was processed a week ago and I still haven't gotten anything. I'm really starting to go crazy. I'm afraid if I call Ivy Tech one more time I'm going to lose my cool.

I went into FA to check on my loan status and she told me they were there now. There was never an email sent to me. I went into Campus Connect and checked the Financial Aid award section, and it was in there. I had to choose accept and do the loan counseling. I would just check your "award" section on campus connect again and see. It might be there.

Edit:

The loan counseling link was under the "requirements" section.

Where'd everybody go? :( What's everyone doing this wonderful last week of sanity??? Anyone still have to get their stuff done (imm., background check, etc.)? I went into panic mode friday cuz apparently I can't read, and didn't realize that I needed 2 of each of the vaccines, so I had to beg my doctor for them cuz he wanted to do titers. I told him I didn't care if I ended up with Rubella, I just need the shot!!! :chuckle Anyway, if you can't tell, I'm bored! TTFN

LOL!! I still have to go back for my 2nd MMR and Varicella.....and the rest of the Hep. series. Other than that, just killin time!

I think we should cherish this period of boredom because we might not feel this way again for the next couple years.

yep! I was just talking to a friend of mine and told him my schedule, his response ... "talk to ya in 2 years" :) It's sad, but kinda true, and it's nice when you do have a friend that realizes the commitment that this is. Im sick of the ones that are always b!%@hin' that you never call and never have time. oh well, im sure i'll make new friends lol! (ones that don't mind hearin about all the crap we did that day...well just call it 'studying') :yeah:

Believe me, you will form some amazing friendships in nursing school! I am so glad I decided to go back to school because I can't imagine not knowing some of the people I have met along the way. You will be able to relate to each other and be there for each other. Nursing school is very stressful and it is nice to have a group of people who love and understand you and what you are going through. School is definitely a roller coaster, but enjoy the ride. :D

I think I'm starting to develop an eye twitch already. LOL

I am trying really hard to enjoy this last week, but I'm amped up and ready to get down to business.

side note: did we have to have a bp cuff at indy? i didn't notice if so, so i need to get one!

i got my stethoscope at the it bookstore. i got a littmann lightweight and it was 50 bucks. i was able to charge it to my financial aid.

wow, i wonder if i could have gotten a littmann at the sb bookstore. i wanted the one that was $130, i think it is called the cardiology ii, with the double bell with peds on one side. i decided i didn't want to spend that much on one before i get my financial aid, so i got a knockoff from ebay for about $35 after shipping.

it has really good reviews, and comes in a ton of colors. i got one in [color=yellow]yellow! i tried it on the kids, and it sounds good to me (like i know what i'm doing lol)

After I did my loan counseling, I got on Openet just to see what would happen and loe and behold, there was all my info for the fall/spring loans. I know they told us we wouldn't be using it this year but looks like they were wrong again. My disbursement date is 9/9.
