Ivy Tech Thread

I beefed up my summer course load and plan to take MAT 118, COM 102, and IVY 104, all online. Anyone else taking these?

I'm taking Micro 211 this fall also. I wish they'd put up the book list so I can buy it online for half the price :)

We didn't even use the textbook for Micro. All we really used was the lab book. I would think that any Microbiology book would be ok.

whats ur name? maybe we can be study buddies. i want to get an A in this class

What campus are you at?

We had our nursing info session in Anderson today. Have to say thanks to all the great advice and info I have seen on here, I already knew most of it.

Dang seems like a long way off before I apply but the end of March will be here before you know it.

The anticipation kills me.

Indy, thanks for the the estudent link, that was helpful. I'm not getting as much as last year but, I am getting some.

I had orientation on Wednesday. Everything went well.

Since my program is part-time, I only have fundamentals W/lab and Pharm.

I won't have actual clinical until next semester when I will have Med surg 1, Lab, and clinical.

It was good to have a little more insight into what the semester will be like.

We were split into two groups of 10, we won't know for sure unitl the 8/28 at our first class (Pharm) whether fundamentals will be 10 0r 15 weeks. I switched groups with the girl sitting next to me since the group I was assigned didn't work very well with my work schedule and my group worked out better for her too.

So I have fundamentals on M-4-6:50p 9/8-12/15 or if it ends up being a 10 week schedule 4-8:20p 10/13-12/15, Pharm R-4-7p 8/28-12/11, and Lab R-7-8:50p (8 weeks) or 7:10-10p (10 weeks)

I'm taking Micro too, I wanted to take ANP 201, but it is on Mondays. So I guess I will take it next semester. Micro is on Sat morning, the only class they had in Logan. I work midnights Sat -Mon uggh... not looking forward to that morning class.

We have clinicals in Logan, Wabash, Rochester, Peru, and Winimac. Wabash is the furthest from me and the one I am most unfamiliar with.

Indy, I think you will get your full grant even if you get the scholarship. The scholarship says it pays only for tuition and fees and that it would be used first. Frank O'Bannon grant is only for tuition. They are used 1st. Then you can used your pell money for supplies and books. whatever is left you get refunded to you. This seems to be what I remember from talking to fin. aid.

Does anyone know when we will be notified about the scholarship?

Also, they changed the loan process, they are no longer doing them online we have to turn them into fin. aid on paper. She said we need to get them done in the next couple of weeks. If you are not sure about getting a loan, I would go ahead and apply and if you find you don't need the money you can go ahead and decline it. That will give you a little more time to decide what you need and be sure to meet the deadline.

Last and I know this is super long but the director for our Work one was at our orientation and said they are hoping to have WIA money again soon but they lost a lot of their funding. She said to check back in our last year 2009-2010.

Wow! that was a huge post LOL!

I just finished the LPN to ASN transition at Logan, have some books I would be willing to sell cheap if anyone needs cheaper books. PM me with your book needs and I will let you know what I have.

Good Luck to everyone, it will be over before you know it!

Well that pasting didn't turn out like I wanted

Maybe we are at different campuses? I'm taking ANP 101 in the fall through Columbus but couldn't find book lists for it.
