I was wondering if there would be interest in starting an Ivy Tech thread for those not in any program yet, for those still working on Pre-reqs.
I am taking anp102 in the fall in BLoomington, Tech writing online, plan on taking my Teas sometime soon. Going to apply to several campuses for the ASN program.
They have added Intro to Chem and changed the Math pre-reqs now for Ivy Tech ASN as of Fall 08. They are going to grandfather Math 111 for a few semesters supposedly.
new pre-reqs from Campus Connect:

Yay!! A combined "A" on my lab and lecture tests! I got a B on lecture and A on lab so I am excited! Right now I have a 92 for the class!Melissa, just ignore me since you already know this lol.
Well, regardless I am still excited for you!! Congratulations! I got an A on my lecture test...our lab grades aren't posted yet. Yay for us!!! :) :)
Great job on the A's everyone!!! I have my 1st lecture exam this week and I am not looking forward to it. it will be 100 questions....yuck. the instructor said his tests are very difficult. (phooey)
i am studying all weekend long.
Some advice to everyone: if you are taking anp 101 in lawrence, take 102 there also. i switched campusus and let me say....lawrence has their stuff down. this other campus is totally unorganized and it SUCKS. they dont show you anything. the lab is ALL SELF LEARN/SELF TEACH! it is like a study lab. not kidding. i wish I were at lawrence!!!

Yuck, I am sorry, that sounds horrible! Hang in there. Maybe you could sneak over to Lawrence and steal the resources off the lab computers for 102 :)
Question for you all:
I need to take microbiology and intro to chemistry (they now added chem 101 to the list). Any suggestions on where to take these? i know that taking an easier teacher doesn't help you learn as much...but i dont care. :) I want these classes to be as easy as possible.
any suggestions?

Sorry I don't have any feedback for you on these, I have yet to take them. We have bone tissue/axial/appendicular skeleton exam coming up, any more hot tips ? :)
someone in class had a way to remember one of the tissues....the hyaline cartilage. It was kind of funny but I will always remember it.
Hyaline (High-aline)
in order to get HIGH, people smoke Joints.
guess what....hyaline is found in the the joints.
--------
for the tissues, i took the slides from class, printed them off as very small pictures (my computer lets you print off like 2"x2" pictures). i stapled them to notecards to learn them. I got them ALL right on the test.

I was always able to identify slides of the hyaline cartalidge because it kinda looked like fried eggs.

I got all my tissues right too when I took my last test :)
I am kinda nervous about learning all the bones though. I had to leave after my quiz today since Rylan is still recovering from his surgery, but she works ahead anyway and told me we weren't going over anything new today.
