Ivy Tech Thread- NOT in program yet (taking pre-reqs)

Published

I was wondering if there would be interest in starting an Ivy Tech thread for those not in any program yet, for those still working on Pre-reqs.

I am taking anp102 in the fall in BLoomington, Tech writing online, plan on taking my Teas sometime soon. Going to apply to several campuses for the ASN program.

They have added Intro to Chem and changed the Math pre-reqs now for Ivy Tech ASN as of Fall 08. They are going to grandfather Math 111 for a few semesters supposedly.

Melissa2012, just to add...instead of printing all of those pics off, I sent them to walmart.com and got them printed to make "flashcards" (ahead of time, so I could label them in class b/c the labels they have are different on the computers!!!!) also, dont memorize colors, test is b&w, which our instructor told us, so no one thinks Im cheating :chuckle I made up stupid things for the pics

(ie-hyaline cartilage-looks like baby googly eyes and you hang a baby high on a line) yesssssss, it's horrible, but we all remembered it!

also, elastic cartilage looks like carly wilson's elastic spandex pants (kinda tie-dyed lookin) (carly wilson was in a group in the early 90's) im old! lol

fibrocartilage looks like there are rows in the cartilage (looked like earth, from space)

just, the dumber, the better with analogies. I also took all the pics and put them on poster boards one weekend in 'categories'

getbodysmart.com for alot of other stuff!

My teacher told us today to do them in B&W too :) I think Melissa said its going to cost $60 to print them all off??? I'm tempted to take advantage of the printer at work lol.

So the instructors are saying to print the images in BW not color?? If so I might er...borrow the printers at work :) I haven't sent them to Walmart yet because my old computer was too slow and it kept crashing when I tried to upload 675 pictures to my shopping cart from the album...So that's why hubby and I went out and bought a brand new computer tonight!!! :) :)

haha lucky for you! Yeah AG said that the tests have them in black and white so no sense trying to memorize them in color.

right on man. what would i do without this place?!

indy ivy what were you telling us about the saturday study sessions before tests??

I'm gonna throw this out there for anyone that is at the Lawrence campus. Make sure to go to Dr. Debessai's study sessions if he is offering them this semester. That man is an amazing teacher and he is the only reason I was able to pull an A in that class. I had a hard time understanding Dr. Mogus sometimes and the study sessions brought it all home. He does Open Lab which is fabulous, and then he usually had Saturday sessions before a test for 10 bucks. He always said it was ok if you didn't have the money. He'll still let you come. He basically makes test questions, and goes through all the answers and gives rationale, etc. Great resource.

Oh I have the times and days for open lab but I don't know who teaches what :( I may have to stop by Lawrence today to do some stuff.

They usually have it posted on the door who the instructor is for each day. They are all very good.

They don't have the names listed...I asked my prof today and she only knew the person doing it Tuesdays and Fridays. That doesn't help...MM is doing it Friday. I don't know her.

Anyway, knock knock anyone alive?

I'm here. Am at work, printing off all these lovely tissue pictures! :)

Hopefully I can get that done tonight! I don't know how I will manage it, but if I don't I may be asking to borrow yours lol.

You are always welcome to them (after my test, at least, LOL!). I just printed them out in B&W and wrote the names on the back. That's about all the flashcard savvy I can muster right now! :)

Well I got all of them printed out at work today! I am now cutting them and putting them onto index cards.
