I know we still have some time but I imagine a majority of us are taking or have taken the TEAS and are getting ready to get ready for the Spring 2020 application period !! Just thought I could give us a spot to chat, I know I have used the older threads from other years to help me prepare as well!

I take my TEAS (first time) Monday! What is everyone else up to?!

Thank you!

Just wanted to check in on everyone! FW finally got their emails about orientation sent and next steps, and orientation is Nov 22nd!

Hows everyone else doing getting their stuff done?? I have my appointment scheduled for my physical and the vaccine I need and TB test, I ordered my castle branch stuff and am waiting to hear from my husband if anyone has gotten back with him about a CPR class nearby ! Feeling busy but happy to be getting closer!!

Just an FYI about castle branch. Get your stuff in as soon as you possibly can! And keep on them! It says it has 3-5 day turn around time, well..... we have people in my cohort who have waited up to 5 weeks for anything to be accepted by them. A big majority of my class had issues with them taking forever to accept documents. Myself included. The physical forms that were given to us during orientation were 5 pages long. Castle branch kept rejecting it saying I need to submit all SIX pages?? Come to find out the form they were referring to was from 2018. The new 2019 form only has 5 pages. Anyways that took a good 3 weeks to resolve. There are people who cant go on to clinicals because of castle branch taking forever. I don't mean to scare you, I just wanted to let you know so you all can make sure to keep on them and get stuff in ASAP. Also, we are Fall cohort, so maybe they were busier then normal because of all the other colleges and universities starting in fall submitting their stuff (IU and other big Uni's use them too)...So maybe since you are spring, it'll be smoother. I hope it is!

I just got my results back from my background check, do I need to submit that or will it automatically upload???

I am trying to get my drug test knocked put by next week as well just need to confirm with LabCorp about whether or not I need to make an appointment or if I can just drop in

Also my physical form appeared to only be 1 page..... I wonder if I'm looking in the wrong place

I thought I'll wait until orientation day and then start getting my stuff done. I am confused about one thing and I hope someone will answer my question. I am confused about the vaccines. Do we need to put all of those vaccines or we need to provide proof that I was already vaccinated? I was born in Macedonia and I had my all vaccines put over there.

I just walked into Labcorp for my drug test. It took maybe 10 minutes. And was available in castle branch within 5 or so days. And I am under the assumption that the background check just automatically submitted.

I'm not sure about your campus but ours required us to have this stuff done by orientation

Sorry it didnt quote you.

But yes ours said get it done by our orientation date.

It is my understanding that for most of us the only thing we actually need done is the TB test. Your physician, if you have been in indiana this time should be able to pull up your vax record through CHIRP or you can find it yourself through CHIRP. If that is not possible you will need a titers, or like for me I dont want to pay for titers, and I had chicken pox as a kid so I am just getting the vaccines for that.

*** and sorry again you literally said you didnt get vaccinated here so you should be okay with the titers to show immunity ***

Thank you! And double thank you! I'm going to try to get my drug test done when I am up IN FW monday as that's the closest location and it IS my campus however for just a drive there it's about 45 to 50 minutes anyway.

Also for anyone else who didnt see, make sure you download and print the actual physical form FROM CastleBranch because its 5 pages of stuff to print and submit and the thing they emailed is only 2 pages I think. I didnt know that until it was mentioned here

Hello everyone! I got accepted first round to the Fort Wayne campus, and I finally got the email about orientation. I do have a big question about the TB test. Where do I get that done? The orientation packet demands a 2 part test where you get tested twice, or a blood test, but I don't know where to get that done at. CVS offers TB testing, but it's only a 1 step process. Is that something my doctor can order to be done? I'm trying to not go broke getting all this done haha

Your Dr can definitely do it. I went to my Dr last Tuesday and got my physical and had the first one done, and then I had it read Thursday. I go back on 10/29 for the second one.
