Ivy Tech Spring 2020 Hopefuls

Nursing Students School Programs

I know we still have some time but I imagine a majority of us are taking or have taken the TEAS and are getting ready to get ready for the Spring 2020 application period !! Just thought I could give us a spot to chat, I know I have used the older threads from other years to help me prepare as well!

I take my TEAS (first time) Monday! What is everyone else up to?!

Yeah, I have read through other threads too. I think I read the Fall and Spring 2019 threads, along with a few older ones. I saw that too with some getting in with a total of 116 and maybe even lower. I'm hoping more people tend to apply in the fall instead of the Spring at the locations that offer it. Where will you be applying at? I'm applying in Anderson. It's the closest location to where I live, and with kids and still needing to work while in school, I just can't travel too far.

Hi, so did you get into the program ? Please let me know because my score is just similar to yours.

Yes, I got into the RN program at the Anderson location (first choice). I ended up applying with a total of 147/160.

So how is everyone feeling now??? I'm honestly not sure if I'm ready for all the things that are happening. SO many changes just within one week ?

Waouhhh that score is very competitive. How did you increase your score please. I have a total of 134.7/160 points. I got a 74.7% on my TEAS first attempt. Do you think my score is enough to put me into the program or maybe I should consider taking the TEAS again. Did you try with you previous score before you increased it or you just decided to increase it then apply.
thanks for your help

OMG yay!! I'm so glad someone else found it LOL I have been going crazy too!! I got a 74.7 on my TEAS, I'm not sure I'll have enough overall (119) but I am going to try at least! I have seen others with my score get in in the Spring so I'm trying to stay hopeful but I have noooo clue how I'm going to make it until September LOL

Hi, so did you get into the program with your score at your first attempt? Thank you

I'm not sure either. IDK what they plan on doing with clinicals. Are hospitals still going to let us in? At this point it seems to be too much of a liability to the school. Because of that I was thinking clinical hours will be in the schools SIM lab; however, the email from the schools president stated we can't go to the school at all, so there goes sim lab ?

Hi guys, I am about to apply to the fall2020 with 134.7 points total. Do you think I have a chance to get in at the Lawrence which is my first option. Do you know of any one who got in with something similar to mine? I am really stressed out ?

For some reason it isn't letting me reply. Our clinicals are canceled but the email isn't supposed to go out until tomorrow

Ah now I can reply. Okay so ONE group in our class got an email about clinicals being planned to be virtual and a 2 hour meeting will take place on clinical days.

Our labs WERE set to meet in smaller groups but then that got canceled as well so I have no idea how they will check off and approve Foley's and NG tubes.

I do not know. Fall is usually more competitive than Spring which is why my score of 119 was fine for Spring at FW.

Go into the facebook group mentioned here somewhere and you should be able to compare past scored for fall at Lawrence:)

Virtual clinicals? Interesting... Yeah I was on mental health clinical in Bloomington this semester... that would be interesting if they did ours virtual too. I hope not though ?.

Ugh yes I am so sad too. We were supposed to move to a large hospital here for this second 8 weeks and I was SUPER excited to make my way to the ortho floor as I have decided that it has my heart. We are currently only in med surg 1 clinicals though so I dont know if it's going to be the same for our ENTIRE nursing program for the rest of the semester or just those of us in semester 1 but hopefully we will actually get the email tomorrow and I can tell you more. Virtual is NOT the same. We already had some of that with Shadowhealth and UGH. I want the real patients. I loves doing that at the LTC/rehab facility and I'm going to miss it ??
