Hey, just seeing who's on here that will be applying with me. I'm applying to Muncie, Kokomo, and Ft. Wayne. I feel like this is all I think about already. I'm retaking a couple of pre reqs this summer to improve my score. I've already taken the teas but will probably retake it as I only received an 83. I've also attended all the nursing info sessions. What is everybody else doing to prepare? I'm so paranoid about forgetting something! I'm looking forward to talking with people in the same boat. Or if anyone who has already applied wants to share advice, I'd gladly listen!
i also plan to live off of loans and financial aid! At least in the beginnging until I have a better sense of what the time committments are like! No point in working so hard to get in just to fail out or be so overwhelmed and stressed you can't enjoy anything! My mom was nice enough to let me move back home until I finish so I am taking full advantage of that!
I agree with u...I plan on moving home too. We will see I need to get the letter first. My best friend is med school and said its better to just focus on school. I also don't want to get burnt out or do poorly in school. I'm kind of looking forward to being unemployed..lol. I wonder if the school offers insurance?
Good afternoon! So are you guys going to work along with school? I have been told its too hard to work and focus on nursing school. I don't mind living off loans to reach my goal, but thought I would ask what ya'll are doing;)
I am working full time right now and taking just two classes. I already have a Bachelors degree and $22,000 I owe for those loans, so I do not plan on living off my financial aid, or my loans. I also do not even plan to take out anymore loans. I live with my daughter at home with my parents and I will be working at least part time throughout nursing school, as I work at the hospital & they will pay for my nursing degree. If it becomes a challenge working & going to school, I will have to re-evaluate haha.
I agree I would like to work, but it all depends on the schedule. If I get in I will have to quit my job and maybe take the first semester off. I have loans from IU as well, but for me if I need the loans their worth it. I'll just pay them back later;) But I'm a very high energy person so I bet I'll get a part time job.
I am a traditional in the Air National Guard, so I get the GI Bill. I am also married, so I get to focus on school and guard work. I think I would go nuts if I had to work full time, and try to go to school!
I have heard it is too hard to work and make it through nursing school, and that you don't even want to wait to take any of your co-reqs at the same time.

I was thinking of applying at Valpo but didn't because I knew the clinicals were too far for me to drive to (I live in Hammond). But, now I'm wishing I had!! I was reading through the Fall 2010 posts and the scores were outrageously high!!
I hope what they say about Spring having less applicants is true!!!
