This is the "Not In" thread, or for anyone that's planning on applying for Spring Semester by the Sept 1st deadline.

We need love too! :loveya:

My Boring Stats:

A's in prereq's except ANP 2...taking that class now.

Horribly embarrassing TEAS at 76, still have two more tries. (Which is why I'm taking math and phys sci this summer. lol)

Hope to get into the Bloomington or Terre Haute programs. (Yay! Greene county gets region pts at both. lol)

Currently frazzling myself out with 5 online classes

It's nice to meet you....whoever you are....

Sunny,

Sorry to hear about the drug test site issues. I went to the one on Naab Rd behind St. Vincent Hospital and it was very clean and I was the only one in there. No problems. Not sure how close that is to you, but it might be worth the drive from hearing about your previous experience. Good luck next time.

I can't believe you guys start in only 3 weeks!! I can't wait to hear all about your first days in the program next month!

All of my finals are done, and it feels great to be done with first semester already!

Chris- how much was your chicken pox titer? I have to have a few vaccinations for CNA and that's one. I've had the chickenpox so I would prefer to NOT have the vaccine! I wonder how much the Hep B is too...I am almost positive that I already had the series when I was younger.

Kara, I don't know how much my chicken pox titer was. I had it done through my dr. office lab and it gets filed to my insurance and it hasn't gone through yet. I think other people were saying that the Hep B is $35 at the health dept but I'm not sure.

My Titer was like $145 against my insurance.

My Hep B has cost me nothing through the health department in Hancock County. The TB test cost me $10 per reading.

Jeez $145. Its cheaper to get the vax. The MCHD charges $35 for the hep B series and $10 for TB. I don't know how much the varicella vaccine is.

Not too long before you all are officially nursing students! This board's gonna be dead once the new semester starts ;)

I can't believe that the first day of classes is less than a month away. I still have some supplies left to purchase. I am also still waiting for my financial aid to be finalized, so I am hoping that happens this week and I can go to the bookstore next Monday. I had a scare with my TB records the other week and am nervous about the nursing department having all of my records.

I'm in the process of cleaning the whole house so that I can be better focused when classes start. I know most of you are attending the Indy campus, but hopefully we can post about our first week of classes. I can't wait!:)

I finally got some (MEDIUM) scrubs from the bookstore. The pants are way too big, they just hang down too low or something. The shirts are too big for me also, the pits of the arms are way down on my side. I am getting upset because the small pants and shirts are too small. I must have an odd shape or something. Anyway, I thought I would let the ladies know. Also, I did get a confirmation yesterday that the book bundles would be there today. I took my CPR class yesterday with Darlene McAdams, the lady that they told us about. She is awesome, we learned stuff that most other classes don't even teach you. Plus you get your card the same day, instead of having to wait a month. Well you guys have a Merry Christmas, and I will see you all next year, exactly seven days into it. Enjoy the break, and save the stress for later. We're all going to be ok...........:D

Leen, did they say if we would be able to purchase the bundle today or that they were just coming in? I have tried calling, but they don't pick up.

I finally went and got some vaccinations at the MCHD. I feel like every time you go they tell you something different. Last time they told me that for students everything was a one-time fee of $10, except for the Hep B vaccine, which is $35 per shot. At the time, they told me that included the TB test, the Varicella vaccine, MMR, and dTap, and that even though you might have to get two TB tests or two Varicella shots, you would only have to pay the $10 once. They told me that once on the phone and once in person. Then, when I got there, they told me that you have to pay a separate $10 for the TB test and if you need two Varicella shots (which are administered a month apart) they are $10 each, and apparently if you need more than one TB test, those are also $10 each.

It's still not very expensive, it's just very frustrating to expect one thing and get another.

Also, they've been out of Hep B vaccines on Michigan Rd. for about a month (maybe on and off, I haven't checked regularly). Does anyone know of a location that does have them?

Is anyone else still waiting on their grades? I found it amusing that one of my teachers posted a message last week that said our scores would be ready by Monday, but when I signed on to Blackboard yesterday the message was gone and our grades still aren't available. I called the registrar's office and they said grades were due by 5 PM yesterday, and they are getting after teachers who haven't submitted them yet. That made me chuckle.
