Ivy Tech Spring '10 Applicants

U.S.A. Indiana

Published

This is the "Not In" thread, or for anyone that's planning on applying for Spring Semester by the Sept 1st deadline.

We need love too! :loveya:

My Boring Stats:

A's in prereq's except ANP 2...taking that class now.

Horribly embarrassing TEAS at 76, still have two more tries. (Which is why I'm taking math and phys sci this summer. lol)

Hope to get into the Bloomington or Terre Haute programs. (Yay! Greene county gets region pts at both. lol)

Currently frazzling myself out with 5 online classes

It's nice to meet you....whoever you are....

The Littman II, not the lightweight one though. It's comfortable and you can hear perfectly with it.

hello, i am new to the thread. i applied for the spring semester at indy. i just thought that i would wait patiently(ha ha) with you all until we hear the news. i wish everyone the best of luck. it seems like it is getting more and more difficult to move forward on this path, but i remain optimistic.......:p

Welcome Leen! The more the merrier!

thanks for the welcome..........:p

So, I wonder if they schedule people into all "A" sections of all the classes, or all "B", or all "C", or all "D". That's the way it seems to work, looking at all the class times, all the "A" classes fit together, all the "B", etc. First 5 wks is 100, 101, and 106(Pharm). Second 11 wks is 102, 103, 105, and the rest of 106. I just wonder if you have to stay in your letter section for the whole term, or at the switchover at week 6 can you switch to a different letter section as long as the whole-semester Pharm 106 you started in still fits.

Here at Bloomington, during orientation they pass out schedule sheets that are 4 different colors. These colors all have different schedule on them, and basically if you get a yellow paper, you follow the yellow schedule with the same people in all of your classes. Same for the blue schedule, pink schedule, and purple schedule. I think it makes it a lot easier for everyone really. You stay with the same people when you switch from Fundamentals to Med Surg 1 also. I'm sure that at semester change they make new groups though (that's what I've heard).

Two weeks and counting, really seems to be going fairly quickly. Wouldn't it be nice if they surprised us and got the letters out early! Ok, so I am not holding my breath and waiting for that to happen but....

Lennon, thanks for the schedule info. I hope that Indy does it that way. Oh and let me say Thanks for still posting here. . . everyone else has dropped off the site it seems.

Kim I check my mail every day thinking "Well, just maybe. . ." not holding my breath either though.

:yeahthat: Thanks Lennon!

Linda and the "Eager Beavers" over at Sellersburg got my hopes up! My kids no longer get the job of collecting the mail, I don't let it sit in the box anymore.

I'm the same way MistyMiss.....waiting for the letter, waiting for the darn Financial Aid check soon....I check the mail in this house. lol

Both of my campuses SHOULD technically be early, because they have less to do this semester, plus--there's no waiting on the previous semester's grade.

I doubt I am in Bloomington RN, however, it shouldn't take 4 weeks to write down 10 names. = )

Terre Haute doesn't have an LPN program in the spring, so they have less of an applicant pool as well. However, when I asked TH if they would mail the letters by Sept 30th, just to confirm, they were SHOCKED, and said it might take 4-6 weeks. I think they need reminded that Sept 30th is the date on the application.

I hear ya on the financial aid! Hopefully it won't take them too long to "review" before sending the checks.

There is nothing more frustrating than having to wait longer than what is promised, especially for something like this. They have a fairly long time to get the acceptance letters out. I understand that there is a large volume of applicants, but it is unfair to make people wait past the date. How far behind was Columbus last semester? Wasn't it almost 2 weeks? OOF! Here's hoping they all get the letters out on time!

I've been reading several of these threads over the past few weeks and finally decided to join! I am anxiously awaiting a letter from Indy and thought it would be nice to share in the anticipation with some people who actually know what it feels like to center your whole month on one piece of mail! Does anyone know if they have any restrictions on timing since a prereq was taken? I took my English and psych when I got my undergrad several years ago. Those two classes are almost 10 years old and I never asked a nursing chair specifically to see if they'd accept them. The Ivy Tech advisor seemed to think that it wouldn't be a problem, but I wondered if anyone else has encountered a similar issue?? Good luck to everyone! September 30th will be here before we know it---in theory :)

Hi AnneMarie! Welcome to the club! Well, my Psych and English are 22 yrs old LOL. . . as long as you have a degree that you earned, then they will count no matter how old they are. The nursing chair told me so. A&Ps on the other hand had to be like 7 yrs old or less even with a degree, something like that.
