So, I am just a little confused! I had to take this semester and next semester off from Ivy Tech due to pregnancy. I am going back in august 2010. I am going for RN but if I dont get accepted i am going to shoot for the LPN. I have been hearing both positive & negative things about ivy tech's nursing program! I am so confused! Purdue or IUN only offers RN. Alot of Ivy Techs credits will not transfer over to PU or IUN. I know there program is BSN for RN. I am just confused on what to do!! Any inputs would be helpful! Thank you!!

Have you spoken with admissions counselors? I don't see why Ivy Tech credits wouldn't transfer for rn->bsn... Let us know what you find out!

I know that Ivy Tech transfers to Ball State. Ball has an online ASN to BSN that I plan on continuing with.
Good Luck!

Ivy Tech nursing classes do not transfer to IU. I dont think they transfer anywhere but I do know that IU has an amazing Nursing program as well as a high NCLEX pass rate. I was at Ivy Tech for 1 semester and am now a junior at IUN. the only thing that I dont like is that classes dont run through the summer, at least at IUN.

I'm pretty sure IUSON reps have visited Ivy Tech before to talk with people about going on for a BSN. I don't know why Ivy Tech's classes wouldn't transfer, or why an ASN from Ivy Tech wouldn't 'count' when doing the RN to BSN program there.
Lol.
Yes they do. They transfer to MANY state universities and colleges.

Actually, they do transfer, as I did it myself for RN-BSN program. They also transfer to ISU, USI, PU, any state funded college. It is up to the accepting university to decide what they will accept, but for the most part, I've never heard of any credits denied, and I've had friends that have went to just about every school around.

Many classes wont transfer from Ivy Tech to IUN especially A&P I & A&P II. IUN's nursing program is amazing!

I've heard the same from many students. I had a few people in my A&P class who were re-taking it because their credits won't transfer. Another student couldn't apply to the program she wanted to get into because her masters level statistics course from Purdue didn't fulfill the beginners level statistics requirement for nursing students. She would have taken it the semester before had she known it wouldn't transfer. Now she has to wait another year to apply.
Just don't assume anything. Make sure you talk to an advisor at your school and any school you want to transfer to and go over every detail.
