I've been reading "allnurses" for several years, never thinking I'd reach this point. So, I never registered. However, after 2-years of night classes the dream of nursing might become a reality. Now, the wait for acceptance/denial begins. It's all come to this point for many of us.
Several years ago there was a forum where people were waiting on THE letter. Why not have one for the folks waiting on 2011? If there IS one I missed it.
We're all in the same boat, all waiting on the letter, and wondering if there was a minor detail overlooked. Was the score high enough? Did my transcript fall through the folder, then get swept under the desk? (That one woke me up last night) In my case, my brain can handle the wait...my stomach/intestines are not doing so well.
Thought this might be a nice thread to vent, support, and otherwise worry with each other for the next couple of months. Near as I can tell, it's going to be 74 days, give or take, before we all know....one way or the other.
Best of luck and keep prayin' I know I am! :)
Thanks, Faypha. Before this all started I kept hearing "scores are lower this time." They might be lower...but not low enough for me. Who knows. The Kokomo letter will hopefully be in the mail tomorrow and I'll know that part. THEN wait on the others...
Long wait and my summer classes start on Monday. yipee.
I got accepted into the ASN program in Kokomo! My score was 172. I am still waiting on letters from a couple more places but I am happy I got one letter. This is not my first choice so I will be turning it down if something else comes along thats better. I can't believe we do not have a long time to accept or deny admission before it gets turned over to another student. Hopefully I get other letters soon or I am screwed.
30 points for the APHY and 15 for the English and Psych. Teas is Science x .25. English and Reading x .20 and Math x .15. I think this is correct!
Those don't even add up to the 100 you'd need for the 100% within a weighted score scale, Faypha . It's .30*Science + .25*(reading+english) + .2*(math) for TEAS (30 + 2*25 + 20 = 100). For the classes it's ANP 101/ANP 102 30pts=A (each), 20 pts= B (each), etc.; PSYC 101/ENG 111 15 pts=A (each), 10 pts = B (each), etc., for a max of 90 pts :)
Oh I am going crazy now!!!! I only applied at Lawrence with 166.7 pts and it isnt looking very promising for me. I am curious though if anybody knows how many spots Kokomo had open? I am fairly certain that Lawrence is taking 90 applicants this time around. Congrats to all that made it and good luck to the future applicants. It has been a long and hard road.
The Kokomo letter came today. The first two words sorta gave it away. "I regret...." was about as far as I got. It wasn't even on letterhead, just a photo copy of a form letter on letterhead. Geez.
It was the third choice for me, but would have been nice.
Applied to 3...so that's "strike one." Come on Anderson/Indy. Just what I need in life, more drama....:)
Oh, my score was 165.1...applying for the RN...if that helps. Wonder if I can find some chocolate this afternoon.

I had a 167.3 and got into PN at Kokomo. I called and she said that is in the running for a bump up. People will give up their spots for other campuses and also many people will not pass 13x math. I already took 136 and got a B so really hope to get bumped up but if not I am still happy to be in a program!! I also applied to Anderson and Lawrence.
