I've been reading "allnurses" for several years, never thinking I'd reach this point. So, I never registered. However, after 2-years of night classes the dream of nursing might become a reality. Now, the wait for acceptance/denial begins. It's all come to this point for many of us.
Several years ago there was a forum where people were waiting on THE letter. Why not have one for the folks waiting on 2011? If there IS one I missed it.
We're all in the same boat, all waiting on the letter, and wondering if there was a minor detail overlooked. Was the score high enough? Did my transcript fall through the folder, then get swept under the desk? (That one woke me up last night) In my case, my brain can handle the wait...my stomach/intestines are not doing so well.
Thought this might be a nice thread to vent, support, and otherwise worry with each other for the next couple of months. Near as I can tell, it's going to be 74 days, give or take, before we all know....one way or the other.
Best of luck and keep prayin' I know I am! :)
Faypha....I'm so sorry to hear about your news. You'll be in my thoughts today.
I'd applied to Kokomo, Indy, and Anderson. If the letters are here....well, I'll find out tonight. Tempting to drive home for lunch, but honestly, I'm somewhat scared to know. What kind of nurse would I be...scared of a piece of paper .
Good luck to all and remember, no matter what, God has called us into this for a reason. Doors open for the faithful...even if it doesn't seem that way sometimes.

I don't think Brown Mackie is such a good choice, I have friend going there now for their LPN program and if you taken ANPY 101 & 102 at Ivy Tech you know how those classes are, and at Brown mackie you have to learn that information in one month that's too much to cram and they don't offer labs so I don't know how that goes, and when it's time for clinicals my friend has to drive to Terre Haute and she lives in Indy. You have to be willing to drive almost two hours out, that's way too much, if you ask me. You should check out J. Evertte Light Career Center in Indianapolis, it cost less than Brown Mackie and a few credits transfer.

Ok after reading all these post about the TEAS test at Ivy Tech is making me think twice about applying to the Nursing program. I'm currently attending Ivy Tech and I've completed all my pre-reqs for the LPN program. I haven't taken the TEAS test just yet. But I've been hearing a lot of horror stories about what you have to score on the TEAS and your pre-reqs in order to get accepted into the program. I graduated from Ivy Tech back in 1987 as a Medical Assistant. I came back to Ivy Tech because I've always thought of them as a very good low cost school. But this nursing thing and waiting list is getting old. Even if I was to be accepted, I would have to sit out a semester. I'm not that young and I don't want to waste another 2 or 3 semesters of school trying to get accepted into there nursing program.
If I could only afford to go to Brown Mackie I would drop Ivy Tech in a split second. There LPN program does not have a waiting list. You only have 1 class per month, 4 days per week and of course your clinicals just like Ivy Tech. The only downfall they are just too darn expensive. There tuition is over $400/credit hour. Oh well such is life. You gotta take what you can get.
I hope all of us future nurses will be able to get accepted into the nursing program. Good luck everyone!
