I've been reading "allnurses" for several years, never thinking I'd reach this point. So, I never registered. However, after 2-years of night classes the dream of nursing might become a reality. Now, the wait for acceptance/denial begins. It's all come to this point for many of us.
Several years ago there was a forum where people were waiting on THE letter. Why not have one for the folks waiting on 2011? If there IS one I missed it.
We're all in the same boat, all waiting on the letter, and wondering if there was a minor detail overlooked. Was the score high enough? Did my transcript fall through the folder, then get swept under the desk? (That one woke me up last night) In my case, my brain can handle the wait...my stomach/intestines are not doing so well.
Thought this might be a nice thread to vent, support, and otherwise worry with each other for the next couple of months. Near as I can tell, it's going to be 74 days, give or take, before we all know....one way or the other.
Best of luck and keep prayin' I know I am! :)
I've heard both stories! The bright side, we're just over a month from the letters!
If I don't get in...think I'll drop the summer microbiology class, enjoy the first summer without classes in 2 years, and buy a used motorcycle with some of the saved college money! THEN, hit it again in the Fall and apply for next year. I'll be the only RN graduate who needs a walker to pickup the diploma!
Do you think they will keep us hanging till mid-June? My final grades haven't posted...so, I figure they can't start sending letters till then.
It's this wait that's killing me....and summer classes start the 23rd.
Does anyone know WHEN the drop date is for the summer? If I'm not accepted....boom....dropping this one.
@ rhubarb j~
what class are you talking about dropping this summer, if you don't get accepted are you going to wait until Spring 2012 and reapply? I am nervous I think I probably have the lowest total score and still tried for admission into the program, I don't what's wrong with me I should have not waited so late to take the Teas that way I would be able to do it again. I don't know I have been reading all the scores on here that ppl say they got and my is lower than any score I've seen on here, so low I don't even want to say my number...I'm sad:crying2:
ladytee....I wouldn't put too much stock into the TEAS numbers people are posting on the different boards. There is probably a pretty large 'gray area' where someone did 'ok' but didn't post their numbers.
My final grades posted last night...so, hopefully, the letters will come out at the end of May.
I'm in Microbiology for this summer, which will finish up all the co-reqs. If I don't get in, then I'll take it in the fall and have a summer without school. First one in 2 years! I'm still praying that I get in though...
Keep your head up, everyone, we're almost there! THEN the work begins....
I have a son who's waiting for his letter too. He said you have to have all A's in a few required classes and then as high a score as possible on the TEAS, and applicants are ranking by those things. I'm assuming that's true. He also said that his branch of IVTech had lots fewer applicants than expected.

Really? Would you mind telling which branch he applied at? I feel as if I'm grasping for any information, because I have been stalking both this site and the Ivy Tech discussion boards to get a feel for where I stand. So, any extra information that may spit a glimmer of hope in my (our) direction(s) would be greatly appreciated!!

Really? I heard the opposite. I heard that since some schools did not have a spring nursing class, the normal 300 turned into 900 competing for a place. This came from my science department chair.
