Ivy Tech Fall 2011 Waiting on THE letter
@ waitingonnothing, I was going to go there but i didn't score high enough on one of the sections missed it by like 3 points and that was my second time taking the Teas so I would have to wait another 6 months to take it at Harrison, I really wanted RN at Ivy Tech or Harrison, but I know for sure I am not getting into Harrison and after reading a person's scores who were higher than mine and got denied by the same three regions I applied to, there's no hope there either. So I will do J. Everett Light for their PN program. And then go to Ivy Tech's transition program. Congratulations to everyone else that got accepted!

Ivy Tech Fall 2011 Waiting on THE letter
"They said they had a lot of applications,.......really?? So did all the other campuses and we had to have our applications in by April 1st, so.....2 months must not be enough time!! lol" Yes that's funny considering that Indy probably receives the most applicants and they got their letters out in a timely fashion. I mean let's be real what's the point of having a deadline almost 2 months before you put out the letters, yes I understand about the grades for that semester need to be turned in but why not make the deadline further down, towards the end of the semester? It doesn't make sense to me

Ivy Tech Fall 2011 Waiting on THE letter
Also, I just called Lafayette and they said hopefully letters will be mailed out by the end of the week! Wow why is it fine for them not to follow their own deadlines, we couldn't dare submit our applications a week or two after the deadlines, somethings just are not fair.

Ivy Tech Fall 2011 Waiting on THE letter
I found out some not so great news when I went to the nursing office @ Indy on Tues. I went there to ask if you are an alternate would the letter say so. Here comes the bad news...They did not do alternates this time around so if anyone declined their acceptance into the RN program @ Indy/Lawrence they will not be calling or sending out letters for the people next in line. Bummer, there's no hope for me I think I'll be going to J. Everette Light for their LPN program. WOW that really sucks!

Ivy Tech Fall 2011 Waiting on THE letter
Ok here's what I got. I called Lawrence today and they said their letters will be mailed out no later than this Thursday, called Anderson and Layafette and both said letters should be out by the first week of June, I'm hoping that they come a little earlier than that, is crazy and I'm to anxious. Congrats to hduckworth!

@ kam2011 What school do you go to?

Ivy Tech Fall 2011 Waiting on THE letter
@ Knew45 I don't think Brown Mackie is such a good choice, I have friend going there now for their LPN program and if you taken ANPY 101 & 102 at Ivy Tech you know how those classes are, and at Brown mackie you have to learn that information in one month that's too much to cram and they don't offer labs so I don't know how that goes, and when it's time for clinicals my friend has to drive to Terre Haute and she lives in Indy. You have to be willing to drive almost two hours out, that's way too much, if you ask me. You should check out J. Evertte Light Career Center in Indianapolis, it cost less than Brown Mackie and a few credits transfer.

Ivy Tech Fall 2011 Waiting on THE letter
Kind of off topic but has any one heard that in order to get into a nursing program that uses the Teas test you need to score at least a 70% in all the sections, that's what a RN told me at work I don't know how true that is because I haven't heard of it. Anyone else?

What do you guys think of Medtech College?
I also went to information session there a few months back and I don't know things seemed a little shady, I didn't like how the person giving the session said that not knowing what the NLNAC wasn't important and in fact that's extremely important if you don't want to work in a nursing home, I am not saying that non of their graduates get hospital jobs, but they don't have that accreditation yet and I don't think they will have it until next year, that's what I saw when I went on the NLNAC website. The lady was nice, but it's expensive, no credits transfer and right now the only place that takes credits from there is IWU and that's probably expensive too, which is important if you want to further your education. I work for IU Health now and I called nursing recruitment and was told they will not hire any one who graduates for a nursing program that is not NLNAC accredited, just a thought!

Harrison College
@ EmOgle27 Congrats! I was considering going there this Fall but I am kind of hestiant being the price of the program almost $41000, that's an really expensive ASN program, also hardly any of my credits will transfer maybe 3 classes out of like 12. How do you feel about the loan situation? I plan on one day having my master's but I don't know how possible that would be with me already having so much out in loans already. I mean like are there lots of grants, or scholarships to get because really that's the only thing that is standing in my way is the amount of money. Could you please provide me with as much information you are willing to share, it would be appropriated? Because right now I am so lost and I don't know which way to go. Please help! You could email be at [email protected].

Ivy Tech Fall 2011
@ wannabanrin2012 What the heck are you worried about? So far you had the most points off all the replies I have read, so you should know you will be fine. Do you need to see the letter and actually hold it in your hands, you know you got in, I haven't seen any one else with 180/190...you will be fine stop worrying!
