I've been reading "allnurses" for several years, never thinking I'd reach this point. So, I never registered. However, after 2-years of night classes the dream of nursing might become a reality. Now, the wait for acceptance/denial begins. It's all come to this point for many of us.
Several years ago there was a forum where people were waiting on THE letter. Why not have one for the folks waiting on 2011? If there IS one I missed it.
We're all in the same boat, all waiting on the letter, and wondering if there was a minor detail overlooked. Was the score high enough? Did my transcript fall through the folder, then get swept under the desk? (That one woke me up last night) In my case, my brain can handle the wait...my stomach/intestines are not doing so well.
Thought this might be a nice thread to vent, support, and otherwise worry with each other for the next couple of months. Near as I can tell, it's going to be 74 days, give or take, before we all know....one way or the other.
Best of luck and keep prayin' I know I am! :)
I received my acceptance letter a couple of days ago to the Bloomington PN program. I only applied to PN because I wasn't able to take the darn MATH136 last semester in order to apply for RN as well. I plan on doing the transition to RN immediately after. Congrats to all, and good luck to all those still waiting! :)
Man, this wait is killing me. Every time I think about whether or not I got in, I feel like I'm going to . I tried calling this morning to see when Columbus is sending the letters out. Again, to no avail. I think they had all calls regarding the pondering of nursing routed to a line to which no one is assigned to avoid people like me. Has anyone else heard anything about Columbus? I am going :dzed: over this.
For those waiting on East Central....no letter today. Got a motorcycle magazine, a bill, request for donations, and flyer for something. The one letter I want didn't come...
"The letter will come tomorrow, tomorrow...bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow...they'll be a letter.." -Annie 1982. (Not bad for a 6'2" married guy)
Did you get a denial letter from Richmond, I was just wondering- I applied to both RN and LPN at Richmond, but I have not received any letters as of today. Do you mind sharing your score? I have seen two people posted that they were accepted with a 171.5 and a 171. I am getting scared, I only have 166 total.
I got accepted to my ABSN program, so I will be giving up my seat at Indy/Lawrence. I am going to wait until Tuesday to call...just so it all sinks in and I know what I am doing/deciding. I am happy that one unsuspecting alternate is going to get a happy phone call next week!
I also got in to IUPUI today, but the traditional program with a 3.85 GPA and a 3.50 GPA overall. IUPUI is awesome! Congrats Ace!
To all who didn't get in, keep trying. My first time I was denied and re applied. You must not have a back up or take no for an option.
Has anyone heard anything about being an alternate? I got my denial letter from Lawrence last week and congrats to all those who have been accepted!! However no one has mentioned being an alternate and it has me thinking. Also do any of you know what the Lawrence cutoff ended up at being?

No problem, I hear ya about the fin aid, though. I'm purposefully putting off taking some classes just to make sure that I'll be able to maintain full time status at Ivy Tech during the bulk of the nursing program. For instance, I was gonna take Abnormal Psych and ENG 112 this summer, but decided that I should put off the Psych class for the second of the 7 CH semesters (and ENG 112 isn't needed any longer for the ASN program, so I'm just simply not taking it lol). Also, I'm gonna be taking that one credit hour life skills-type class we need during the 11 CH semester. I don't know what I'm gonna do for the other 2 CH of the last semester though. Meh, I'm sure I'll figure it out.
