I've been reading "allnurses" for several years, never thinking I'd reach this point. So, I never registered. However, after 2-years of night classes the dream of nursing might become a reality. Now, the wait for acceptance/denial begins. It's all come to this point for many of us.
Several years ago there was a forum where people were waiting on THE letter. Why not have one for the folks waiting on 2011? If there IS one I missed it.
We're all in the same boat, all waiting on the letter, and wondering if there was a minor detail overlooked. Was the score high enough? Did my transcript fall through the folder, then get swept under the desk? (That one woke me up last night) In my case, my brain can handle the wait...my stomach/intestines are not doing so well.
Thought this might be a nice thread to vent, support, and otherwise worry with each other for the next couple of months. Near as I can tell, it's going to be 74 days, give or take, before we all know....one way or the other.
Best of luck and keep prayin' I know I am! :)
Congratuations hduckworth!! see you in the fall :)...I made it into the ASN program at Kokomo with a 171.56. So relieved to at least have one acceptance letter but still waiting to hear from Muncie region.
Congrats to you too Red Hot Mom! There is so much to do between now and August...I can't wait for the orientation session to get schedules and everything. I have to work to pay my bills while I'm in school. I don't qualify for grants or anything due to a previous degree (maybe a little bit of loans will be available). I am sure I will be able to pay for school, but that's probably about it. Knowing my schedule would be great for planning! - Although I hear that it can change up until the last minute.
Does anyone know how the classes are broken up per semester (like how many credit hours/classes we take per semester)?
Hello Everyone,I have been following this thread for awhile and finally decided to join in. Does anyone know how it works if you have to accept a spot at one campus before you have received a letter from other campuses? I been accepted into one campus but I prefer another one since it is closer to me, however I have to let the first campus know by June 1.
Thanks for any input on this!
@mombutterfly: I was in the exact same situation. Kokomo needed a response by June 1st or my spot would be given to someone else. But, Lafayette letters are not going out until after that time. I went ahead and accepted Kokomo and I think I will stick with that.
But, I was thinking that it would be possible to accept Kokomo and then if I got into Lafayette, that I could accept Lafayette and then call Kokomo and tell them that I would not be attending after all. They always have people on wait lists, or they can bump someone up from PN to the ASN program. I think that they understand that you have to do what's best for you. I don't think you would have any issues if you declined after you had already accepted (unless you were already registered for classes). Better to do that than to let your spot slip away before you hear from the other campus.
That's just my thought though. You may want to call the campus that you were accepted to and ask for sure.:)

The first semester it's 13 CH, the second it's 11, and then the 3rd and 4th are each 7 CH. I'm not too sure of the exact order of classes we take though...
Congrats mombutterfly! I'm glad it worked out for you! Good luck over the next few years...we're in for an adventure.
If anyone is interested, I actually started a new thread for those who were accepted to Ivy Tech for the Fall, to talk about any questions/concerns etc.. I couldn't find one anywhere, so I just started my own. It's under Ivy tech: accepted fall 2011 in the search engine (sorry, I don't have the link).

Thanks so much Wannabanrnin2012! I have been trying to figure it out for financial aid purposes, but they never told us at the info session I went to, and the online curriculum just lists all of the classes (but doesn't say which semester you take them).
