I've been reading "allnurses" for several years, never thinking I'd reach this point. So, I never registered. However, after 2-years of night classes the dream of nursing might become a reality. Now, the wait for acceptance/denial begins. It's all come to this point for many of us.
Several years ago there was a forum where people were waiting on THE letter. Why not have one for the folks waiting on 2011? If there IS one I missed it.
We're all in the same boat, all waiting on the letter, and wondering if there was a minor detail overlooked. Was the score high enough? Did my transcript fall through the folder, then get swept under the desk? (That one woke me up last night) In my case, my brain can handle the wait...my stomach/intestines are not doing so well.
Thought this might be a nice thread to vent, support, and otherwise worry with each other for the next couple of months. Near as I can tell, it's going to be 74 days, give or take, before we all know....one way or the other.
The first semester it's 13 CH, the second it's 11, and then the 3rd and 4th are each 7 CH. I'm not too sure of the exact order of classes we take though...
Actually, I take back what I said about the credit hours. I just looked at the new and updated version of the program, and they've added some classes. So, I don't know how many credit hours each semester is any longer.
Well, maybe the added classes will help bump us over the full time mark on some of those semesters that were originally 11 or 7 credit hours. I wish that they had it all laid out for us online so that we could know what the course load was going to be each semester. Orientation will definitely be helpful!
Just read on the Ivy Tech message boards that North Central Region (Anderson, Muncie) will not have their letters out until June 15th. Anyone else heard this? If I accept mt PN spot at Kokomo and (by the grace of God) get into Anderson can I just pull my name from Kokomo? Any answers?
Yes you can. I originally accepted admission into kokomo before I got my letter from indy and then I called and told the dean at kokomo that I wanted to deny admission. Don't pass up this opportunity. It only comes around twice a year.
Today, I stepped out to get my mail and to see if anything came from Ivy Tech. I see a card from them. Now, I know that they will send the letter in an envelope that I addressed so it will have my writing on it, but that didn't stop my stomach from jumping into my throat when I read "Congratulations!". I felt light headed. I read on. "You made the Dean's List!" I don't think I have ever been so disgusted at being on a Dean's List as I had been today.
Everyone that was accepted into the LPN program in Kokomo be watching your mail...a friend of mine just received her letter that moved her up into the RN program...the shuffling has begun :)
well im not sure of her exact score but her TEAS was 79.3%...i have another friend who im hoping also gets bumped up today and her TEAS was a 78.8%...impatiently waiting for her to get to her mail...
It's all come to this point for many of us.
