Ivy Tech Fall 2017 Hopefuls

Published

Is there anyone else out there, or is it just me? :)

I'd love to connect with others who are applying for the Fall 2017 nursing program.

I am signed up to complete my prerequisites in the spring. English and Public Speaking are already done with an A, from a prior degree with Ivy Tech. They are also going to waive the IVY112 class because I am an Ivy Tech grad.

So I am signed up for APHY101, MATH123, PSYC101, and SOC111.

On one hand, I can't wait for classes to start! On the other hand, with the Holidays, I know the time is going to fly by.

I have the TEAS study guide from Amazon (ATI TEAS Secrets Study Guide: TEAS 6 Complete Study Manual, Full-Length Practice Tests, Review Video Tutorials for the Test of Essential Academic Skills, Sixth Edition: 9781516703838: Medicine & Health Science Books @ Amazon.com) and I am studying it and looking through the first practice test. So far, so good! Lots of info there to cover. Will keep me busy, for sure.

About me: My degree is in Business Administration and my work history is mostly in accounting, but I've been home with our 3 boys for the past 16 years. We have homeschooled for the past seven years. They all went to public school this year, and they are doing GREAT! Now I need a new direction, as well... I've got maybe 30 years of working ahead of me, and I want to have a solid career. I hated being stuck at a desk. Nursing ~ here we go!

hi jbailey155

yeah me too, I was hoping to get an email today I got 131/160 do you know if anyone received any email today.

hi gemlady can you send the link to the facebook group, I joined one about a week ago but they have refused to accept my request I don't know why

Yes I have heard emails went out. To get on the Facebook group you have to either send them a message that you attending school at ivy tech nursing or have it on your profile.

does anyone know what the lowest points accepted to Lawrence were so far? Or if any new acceptance emails went out today for Lawrence? The lowest I heard in the first round was 128.7. I have a friend with 125.9. was hoping to find out some of the scores of people getting in today, or at least to get a feel for if there's any seats left. or is there somewhere on the ivy tech site that shows how many seats are left?

Specializes in LTC.
I would hold tight! She was trying to tell me if I kept my old psych C and got a 124 total I'd be okay! (I don't want to keep my C anyway) but that's what she was saying!

I was advised to retake PSYC and I brought my C from 20 years ago up to an A. I'm so glad I did. I did everything possible to get the highest score possible, because you never know what sort of numbers you'll be up against.

I haven't heard anything either. My application still says complete and ready for the selection process to begin. Not sure if that stays the same until you are accepted into the program or not. Still holding out until the last round! There's always the Spring 2018 program if it doesn't work out.

Yeah, I think it's been said in this thread before, but presumably it should be easier to get in the the spring, more people apply in the fall typically. I wish they could just email everyone each round saying yay or nay. The waiting sucks.

That's EXACTLY why I want to improve. Plus honestly if I can help it, I don't want ANY Cs !!

I got my letter last week, I was accepted to Lawrence campus :) Good luck everyone!

Hey, guys! So, I was accepted in Bloomington. I was already registered for some fall classes since I wanted to cover my bases in case I didn't get into the nursing program.

Do I need to just drop those classes? Don't the people involved with the program assign you your classes? Just curious! Can't remember if I've seen this one answered before on here. :)

Are the classes pre reqs for nursing or just random classes ?
