Is there anyone else out there, or is it just me? :)
I'd love to connect with others who are applying for the Fall 2017 nursing program.
I am signed up to complete my prerequisites in the spring. English and Public Speaking are already done with an A, from a prior degree with Ivy Tech. They are also going to waive the IVY112 class because I am an Ivy Tech grad.
So I am signed up for APHY101, MATH123, PSYC101, and SOC111.
On one hand, I can't wait for classes to start! On the other hand, with the Holidays, I know the time is going to fly by.
I have the TEAS study guide from Amazon (ATI TEAS Secrets Study Guide: TEAS 6 Complete Study Manual, Full-Length Practice Tests, Review Video Tutorials for the Test of Essential Academic Skills, Sixth Edition: 9781516703838: Medicine & Health Science Books @ Amazon.com) and I am studying it and looking through the first practice test. So far, so good! Lots of info there to cover. Will keep me busy, for sure.
About me: My degree is in Business Administration and my work history is mostly in accounting, but I've been home with our 3 boys for the past 16 years. We have homeschooled for the past seven years. They all went to public school this year, and they are doing GREAT! Now I need a new direction, as well... I've got maybe 30 years of working ahead of me, and I want to have a solid career. I hated being stuck at a desk. Nursing ~ here we go!
Hi kp91110 and ljebary. I applied to Gary/Crown Point too. I scored a 136/160 & got an acceptance email for the ASN program. So, hang in there! The wait is definitely terrible. I had to accept the school's offer for the program by, I think, June 1st???..I can't remember.... However, I bet the second round of emails will start to go out after that point. Good luck and I'll keep my fingers crossed.
I'm so glad to have found this thread! I am starting my pre reqs in a week and am so scared/excited/nervous!
I originally started these classes to become a CMA and get my AAS. Then I did a little looking and realized I could get my ASN for five more credit hours. Being a nurse/RN has been a dream of mine for a long time now but I never thought I could make it with two kids under three and husband who works forever and a day!
This thread was so suspenseful and exciting! I will be applying to the Ft. Wayne campus when we get there!!

I have wondered about those out there who have not been accepted yet. So I am glad you're still here! Please continue to feel welcome as you do whatever you may need to do to improve your scores & achieve this goal. We have Leadkrm and another new poster who just graduated, so they are ahead of us. Some of us may then be ahead of you, and what a great opportunity (I think) to learn as much as you can from those who have been there, done that. So regardless of your outcome ~ if you are still shooting for this program, please stick around! :)
