Hi everyone! I wanted to start a thread for those of us planning on applying by April 1st....
Has anyone taken the TEAS yet? Where are you with your pre-reqs? What campus are you applying to?
I am planning on taking the TEAS in December, so I have enough time to retake it :) and this is my first semester at Ivy Tech. I'm taking APHY 101, ENGL 111, and PSYC 101 all this semester and I will complete APHY 102 next semester. I am planning on applying to Indy.
And good luck to all the Spring 2010 applicants! :yeah:Hope everyone gets in!!!

Good luck to you today!! I will cross my phalanges and metatarsals for you. How do you like lifespan development? Do you have to write a lot of papers?
PSYCH is going well... we had the midterm last Monday, I get it back tonight. I need to get an A to keep an A in the class, I missed two assignments at the beginning of the semester because my son had appendicitis.
NNP sounds great. I wold love to work with babies my self.
Thanks, magnolia and Chris.
magnolia - I'm really enjoying lifespan, it's interesting, however I did horribly on the midterm. I did the same thing in Psych last semester, just because it's hard for me to remember all the different aspects of the theories, blah, blah, blah. However, somehow I managed to pull an A out of my butt in Psych...largely thanks to papers, DB's, and quizzes. I hope to do the same in lifespan.
We've had to write one paper, so far, but there is another one due at the end of the semester. Nothing too difficult. I made a 100% on the paper and I wrote it in a couple of hours. I wish that APHY was about writing papers, then I would pretty much know I was making an A.
I honestly have no idea about this APHY midterm, but I don't have a good feeling about it. However, even if I make a 60% on it, I will still have a B, but it would be nearly impossible to bring it back to an A, so...I'm pulling for an 85% so I can keep this A and bring it up higher!
Emmi,
Good luck! I'm sure you will do great!
Magnolia,
I got my results immediately since it was online. OMG, I did terribly! I'm so discouraged because I studied so hard. I've never studied like that. I made flashcards and went over everything a gazillion times. I'm so irritated with myself.
There is no way that I can make it up and get an A, even if I ace all of my quizzes and the final. I did THAT bad. Ugh...I'm so disappointed and irritated with myself. I am going to see if she will give us partial credit, because there were several matching ones and I got either 2 or 3 of them right, but didn't get any credit for them at all. *le sigh* I feel so emo right now...its bad.
Okay, my emotions are better now. I just have to work hard and do well on the final. If I make an A in APHY102, and do well on the TEAS, I'm still in the game. If I don't make it, I'll just retake it in the summer and apply in the fall for Spring 2011. That will give me time to finish up all my coreqs anyway.
I'm just trying to look at it as a minor setback. As long as I do well on the rest of the tests and the quizzes, I can keep the B and hopefully still be competitive. People have gotten into the program with B's, right? Anyone know what the scores of people at the Evansville campus for this semester or spring 2010?
csab- I am doing pretty well :) I have a B for now so I am okay with that! Just working hard to ace the rest of my tests!
I ended up signing up for the CNA prep for the 2nd 8 weeks next semester :) Figured I might as well! Now I am debating on keeping it at 14 credit hours or dropping psych and adding dosage calculations. Not sure what I am going to do yet!
Tara- I am so sorry to hear about the midterm. Good job on maintaining a positive attitude!!! I am sure everything will work out the way it is supposed to!
Kgle- I am taking the CNA Prep class next semester (1st 8 weeks) so I will have to let you know how it goes as it moves along:) Along with that I am taking COMM 102, APHY 102, and dosage calculations--it was the only 1 credit hour class I could find and I didn't want to be overwhelmed.
This is all pending successful completion of both APHY 101 and PSYC 101 this semester.

Okay, my APHY101 midterm is today. I'm stressing...trying not to freak out (I've done plenty of that in the past few days). I mean, it's only what I want to do with my life that's partly hinging on this, right? I am sooo nervous!
Cross your fingers, toes, and eyes for me people! (Or would that be phalanges, metatarsals (phalanges of the toes?), and umm...oculs? I can't remember the term for eyes! I've been studying about the plasma membrane and types of reactions too much...oh no. lol)
