Iuon

Hello all prospective nurses,

If anyone has questions about IUON or living on the island, send me a message and I could help you with life on the island, the good restaurants, transportation and the course work. I graduated from IUON and attended an affiliated school in Kentucky. I took my boards in September and I currently work in the ICU in a new grad program. Just leave me a message if you guys have any questions.

Don't listen to this person. The school actively pays people to write positive things about IUON on this website and facebook. This place is a disaster and should be avoided at all costs.

I would suggest that this person has their own agenda. I would urge interested students to contact the sga at IUON if their interested in the program. Their email address is [email protected]

Well all, its not a huge surprise but they are planning on shutting down the nursing program. Really it was a front to build the adjoining medical school and not impinge on their non-compete clause with the med school they created and sold on a near by island a few years back. In the mean time they really managed to ruin a lot of lives.

Clearly this person doesn't know what he is talking about. IUON was established to be a premeir nursing school. They have affiliations with major nursing schools in the United States where students complete their education and receive a US degree. My guess is that this is a student had academic difficulties and is angry, or possibly a competing nursing school. And was this student priviy to the sale of their other school to know the terms and conditions of the sale? I think not! And for ruined lives, I understand that our current pass rate on NCLEX is over 90%, higher than the national average. Are their lives ruined?!

i have to admit this school does sound a little shady after reading all those negative reviews. On to the next one...

DO NOT COME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The school is very injust to students.

I take back what I said before. DO NOT COME TO THIS SCHOOL!

What are the problems there? Why would you warn against it?

They do not treat there students fairly. They are constantly changes policies, faculty, and partner schools. They do not uphold on there obligations. They are very unjust with there students. Teachers are constantly being changed, and no uniform among classes are seen. It does not benefit your education to come here. I am sorry to say this, because i know for many it is the last resort. But i promise you will get a better experience in the states. Dont believe what the administration tells you. Listen to the students. They are not cooperative with working with the students, and solving problems in which the study body has.

Was hoping you would provide some specifics.

This statement is not exactly true! IUON is always adding new schools (ie) Nippising and Kwatland, they do not change partner schools. There is very little turnover of faculty on campus, and most have been here a long time. Their is always going to be a minimal amount of turnover, and as long as the school recruits good quality faculty as replacements, who cares. Academic requirements and policies do change, but most relate to partner school requirements not IUON. I disagree that the administration doesnt listen to students. They do care and always are looking for ways to improve the program. If the school was so bad, why have they such great affiliations and high pass rates on the NCLEX. I like it here and am greatful for an opportunity to obtain a nursing degree. There is always going to be unhappy students for what ever reasons, but dont let the few affect your decision to attend.

Still dont do it. I wish I would have chosen to stay home instead of come.

hey everyone! after a yr and a half of applying to every nursing school possible, i finally got in to iuon! i'm looking for any kind of advice i can find! how is the aid? living on the island? transportation? anything! i also need a roomie for jan 2011, so let me know if anyone is interested!!!!

Guys its official, (from cgfns)

finally cgfns told me that aua in not accredited,

american university of antigua is not accredited by new york state dept. Of education,

that means you can not sit for your nclex if you went to aua.

And also lehman is not going to transfer any of your credits since school you went to is not recognized by new york state dept. Of nursing and dept. Of education. I also called about 14 states to ask them about their credit transfer policy and they all told me that if school is not recognized then there is no chance of me getting any credit transferred any where in united states of america.

Also i got accepted into st. Kitts guys, thank lord. So much lies over at new york office, cant believe it.
