itching?

Alright all you ED nurses. I am in need of some assistance. For the past 3 days, I have been itching like CRAZY. No rash, no redness, no scaling, no flaking, no LICE. Just itching to the point that I would gladly submerge myself in a vat of hot oil if it'd stop it.

No new skin products in use, no new detergents, no contact w/anything out of the ordinary. No sx of gallstones. Been popping benadryl like m&m's, with little relief.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?????????????????????? I am going nuts.

Since you guys see just about everything, please, impart your wisdom.

Wow shay...I hope you aren't still itching ;)

It could be the hives. I know I had that. There is this stuff, I think its called Aveeno or something, but you take a bath in it and it helped me. Alot.

Shay,

have you tried any new meds?... Doxycycline did that to me..

Any thing new that you have introduced.

I hope it stops..

My friend just got over a viral infection and she had horrible itching. Could be that......

My poor itchie friend,

Have you taken any new meds that would cause a histamine release? I don't know what could be your cause, latex allergy? New medication? Exposure to some airborne chemical at work? I suggest you call your Dr. and please let us know. Feel better soon.

Note my title under my cyber name and that explains it all.;)

I laughed pretty hard when I saw that date (after you pointed it out!). Geesh, if the itching hasn't stopped by NOW....

SOOOOO!!!!!! SECOND TIME AROUND GOT MORE POST THAN 1ST TIME.....:p

Maybe an increase to all the germs at work...........I itch like nobody's business whenever I work and the day after really bad, especially in the nose, triple antibiotic ointment helps there. Whenever I haven't worked, been on leave, or a lapse in work, I don't itch at all.
