It is Monday! What are the distance learning students doing week of May 23?!

Happy Monday!! As the board is getting a little more quiet, I thought I would do a quick roll call and see what everyone has going on this week! I think another poster passed their CPNE last weekend! Who is testing this week and what are you all working on?

I am still working on LS3, but almost through all material, and hopefully taking practice exams this week and if all goes well, hope for a cancellation for Friday, but so far not one date has opened up this week so I am still scheduled for the 31st. Scheduling my physical with titers for the next week and my background check too! Whoo hoo! I also emailed my adviser to see if I could take the 1st "preparing for CPNE" online conference for May 31 without having my theory exams done, it doesn't specify on the website.

What is everyone else up to?

The next few weeks are going to be super busy for me!!!

I have the FCCA coming to my house on 5/31 due on 6/10. I have A&P scheduled on 6/7. I have to squeeze in Microbiology sometime in July and I have three months to prep for the CPNE!

Going to the doctors on the 6th of next month. After reading all these posts, I decided I am going to see about getting a low dose of Xanax. I can't afford a $3000 mistake 1500 miles from home... my nerves have got to be under control!!!

Can you postpone micro until after the cpne? Seems like your putting a LOT of pressure on yourself.

I agree...I started to read the CPNE Journals and  what an experience. I can't take Xanax or anything like that. I loathe flying and my OB Rx'd a low dose something, and I giggled all the way on the flight and I still hated flying, lol. I am going to have to go commando, but after 15 years in the OR I better have a pretty good game face :D

That was my original plan, but I was not planning on my date being in September.. But in all reality, having it in Sept is a much better choice for me, because I did not realize the $$ all has to be paid 30 days prior to the exam.. so that gives me until August 9th to come up with my balance.

My uncle has some kind of connection with airlines (he's in NYC) and gets a "buddy rate" so my plane ticket should be cheap, but I had NO clue how expensive these hotels were gonna be.... I am praying I meet a friend or that the EC rate is really good. My friend that lives in Syracuse and works at UUH is going to be on maternity leave, and I don't want to impose with her having a newborn. I also have a cousin who goes to SUNY Syracuse, but she's like 19 and to her I am probably an old hag who is going to want her to be quiet in the middle of the night :-) The two hotels they recommend are a quarter mile from the hospital but like $200 a night!

Anyway, so after reading how long it's taking everyone to get their graduation date (6-8 weeks is crazy, and the fee is even crazier, LOL), I decided I def want to be a GN when I finish the CPNE. I called the FL BON and they do not allow you to sit until they get your official transcripts (I know some states do). I could apply elsewhere and endorse in, but FL is not compact so it cost extra $$ and it might take me a couple months to get that done anyway. I am afraid if I wait a few weeks after I take the CPNE to do Micro, I might be completely burnt out... I don't want to wait to take my boards until next year.

I know I am putting alot of pressure on myself but it's not just me applying pressure.. I'm getting alot from work too. Our role is being "redefined". I need my job. My boss told me the sooner I can get my RN, the better... so without saying too much, I know what she meant.

Someone on here crammed for Micro in 2 weeks and passed with a B, so I am hoping I can do the same. I am so ready for all of this to be a memory.

You know, the first thing I thought of when you said you were going commando was that you were going to show up in your undies. Oh man I am over tired, LOL.

I am :D:D:D:D:D:D:D , because I got my diploma in the mail yesterday!

Congratulations!!! So happy for you :-)

When do you take the boards??

Congrats!!! What an awesome feeling :)

Thanks. I am thinking about taking the boards mid June, but I won't take it until I am 95% confident that I'll pass with 75 questions.

I am taking a break this week! My sister and I are going to Arizona to see my cousin get married:) I will be back on Monday, then Wednesday, FCCA starts.

Ok so i know this is a long shot, but im a huge deal finder with trips. Ive booked several for ppl i work with. I dont know why but ive gotten great at it. So i was going to suggest you try the following websites for hotel rates that are below normal price due to season, or whatever. No fees are involved they are free sites you just buy the Hotel stay if your dates are avail where the hotel is. I always see ny in there, but ok so herethey are and i hope they help!! Gilt.com has a section called jetsetter which is for travel, tripalertz.com, livingsocial.com, sometimes groupon has one, ideeli.com, thats all i can think of. If you need an invite id need your email address. Some of those sites are for fashion too but we have used them before for trips as wellwith no problems or extra fees. Hope this all makes sense!! And hope it helps!!
