Two weeks is enough, the REA guide is an easy read, only about 100 pages on the actual topic. Good luck. I didn't study for Sociology either and my score showed it (50), but a pass is a pass.
Thanks nervous1, I received the same score and was so disappointed in myself because I KNEW I could have done better had I prepared better. It was also a mistake for me to schedule two tests so close together, which made it hard for me to dedicate study time to sociology (which I wasn't too interested in) AND A&I Lit (which I really enjoy).
How was it???? I HAVE to do that. I was going to do it next, but I am getting so involved with investigating cpne workshops. I haven't decided if I will do it now, or wait til I am done. Ordered the Rhe book though, so I am on my way.I clepped interepeting Lit. and it sucked!
The sociology Clep wasn't hard "per se'", I was ill prepared. I received a 50.
Now the A& I Lit, I did well (64), but this subject was more my cup of tea.
To me the psych and soc clep were kind of similar; you could possibly be successful on the exam in a short period of study time.
I started reading my rea clep book yesturday and already have notice the similarities. The two subjects are interesting in content (to me anyway)so I should be just fine.
Make sure this is one course that you need before you take it. I took Intro to Psychology at the community college and EC said it did not apply to my ADN degree, even as an elective, not sure why, I got a B in the class. You might want to call and check with your advisor to be sure.... you may be able to just get HG&D done instead.
OK, So it seems that I am a bit too "gung ho"...Turns out I DON'T need this psychology clep. It was difficult to get an exact yes or no, from excelsior, with regard to it being used as an elective, I guess that I will scratch this one (I didn't pay for the clep anyway). So then on to human growth and development... I paid for that one and scheduled it for the 30th of July, initially it was three weeks after the psychology clep, so i feel like I am wasting two weeks on something i could be testing on. Oh well!
Thanks everyone!

Ok, I have another Clep under my belt (sociology). I have to admit, I didn't study for this like I "should have", but a pass is a pass. My next Clep is for intro to psychology. My question is this, I wanted 3 weeks study time for this exam but when talking to the proctor at my Clep site of choice, the next available dates they have are 7/5 and 7/30! I would like to keep the momentum going (especially since I just finished sociology, and the two are kind of buildable) and get this out of the way by testing on the 7/5 date; but, I am afraid that I may be pushing it with this exam. Is two weeks enough or should I just go ahead and shoot for the 7/5 date?
Thanks for any input.
