Ok, I have another Clep under my belt (sociology). I have to admit, I didn't study for this like I "should have", but a pass is a pass. My next Clep is for intro to psychology. My question is this, I wanted 3 weeks study time for this exam but when talking to the proctor at my Clep site of choice, the next available dates they have are 7/5 and 7/30! I would like to keep the momentum going (especially since I just finished sociology, and the two are kind of buildable) and get this out of the way by testing on the 7/5 date; but, I am afraid that I may be pushing it with this exam. Is two weeks enough or should I just go ahead and shoot for the 7/5 date?

Thanks for any input.

Good thing you found out this info before wasting any more time or money. Good luck on your next exam.

I know! Thank you

Make sure this is one course that you need before you take it. I took Intro to Psychology at the community college and EC said it did not apply to my ADN degree, even as an elective, not sure why, I got a B in the class. You might want to call and check with your advisor to be sure.... you may be able to just get HG&D done instead.

Good point... they used my General Psych 201, but not an Intro Psych or a Death and Dying Psych. They also didn't use a Bio 115, French, or Eng 204 Satire... I really don't understand how they do it... but, they used an Art class!

OK, So it seems that I am a bit too "gung ho"...Turns out I DON'T need this psychology clep. It was difficult to get an exact yes or no, from excelsior, with regard to it being used as an elective, I guess that I will scratch this one (I didn't pay for the clep anyway). So then on to human growth and development... I paid for that one and scheduled it for the 30th of July, initially it was three weeks after the psychology clep, so i feel like I am wasting two weeks on something i could be testing on. Oh well!

Thanks everyone!

Ok, good! Glad you found out... let me know how the Human Growth and Development CLEP is... I think I'll go that route. What are you using to study? BTW... how much do they charge for the CLEP?

My records were evaluated several times over the years. I always found it interesting, how with one evaluation they would use certain courses, then on the next evaluation they would use another set of courses. What really made a lot of sense? When all the classes that I had received an A in, were replaced with classes where I received a C. As many C classes as possible were substituted for A classes. I got a very, very unpleasant attitude about the person who did that evaluation.

After Soc & Psych if you go to Life Span Deveopment and gerontology, the material overlaps alot, so your studying is halfway done! Kassie:coollook:

I'm taking the human growth clep in place of the life span excelsior test (more expensive). The clep test itself is $77 plus my testing facility of choice (a private college) charges $15 administration fee. This isn't too bad considering the state/public college and community college in my area charge $25 and $20 respectively.

I'm hearing that more and more, especially about some of the academic advisors. I wonder if I am not satisfied with a particular advisor, will I be are to request someone different.. Or are they assigned by degree/program of study?

Thanks! Not too bad... I'll have to look into locations here. Definitely more reasonable than the EC test!

Well, that is interesting. I'll keep an eye on what they use for each evaluation. Also, I think someone from EC is trying to call me... keeps coming up on the caller ID when I'm not here. No message, though...

Seems to me I have read that someone was able to get a different person to do the evaluation. Worth a call to inquire.

I recently got a couple of calls from that area too. No message. Not a good way for a school to do business.

After a 'wake up call' yesterday at 9:15 am... (I'm a night person), I called the number. It was from the admissions office, and they said it was probably an automated call reminding me to enroll... even though it didn't leave a message. If I'm around, and awake the next time, I'll answer and let you know. But... you are already enrolled, and almost finished, right?
