Is Peds/Maternity Class hard?

Unsure, but I'm obsessed with kids and birth so I'm hoping it will be easier ;-)

What I found most difficult about Peds is that the correct answer changes every few months --- tip memorize your milestones... what's correct for a 6 month old is not the same for a 2 year old... etc.... flash cards work here --- what would you expect them to be doing and/or how should they behaving... what toys and type of play for each age group..... their biggest fears and concerns about medical care.. etc...

Okay so Peds yes, maternity (OB) No. At least for my school anyway, our class instructor made her exams very straight forward in OB. Anyway for Peds I bought one of those color coated flashcard books from walgreens and I filled it out front to back with important notes. Such as different types of vaccines (MMR, Varicella, Tdap) and age at administration (at least 12 months old for MMR) etc; Took it almost everywhere I went. That was very helpful. I had a hard time in Peds because children were never "my thing" I guess you could say. I was not very interested in it. I ended up barely passing with a 75%. On the other hand I loved OB and passed with a 89%. I'm hoping I can do my practicum in L&D or PP this fall. Best of luck !! You will be fine.

@MadisonG Thank you for breaking your study habits down to a "T" Question did any of you do practice nclex questions before exams? If so ,did it help? I am a Q&A type of learner whether its making up my own test questions or studying from nclex questions. Also, did growth and development help with Peds?
