Is this lifestyle possible in Alaska?

Hi, I'm an ER nurse in big city and I always thought that I was a big city person, but after couple yrs of nursing, I grew tired of the city, the people and everything. To be frank, I don't like people and I don't want to be around people anymore.

I want to move to a remote area by the ocean, wilderness, and not around big cities. I want least government involved place, no governmental ties, least type of any ties to anything, and here's what I want to do. Live by the ocean or river and fish salmon, hunt games with my rifle, hopefully operate simple one-man fishing boat, raise a simple farm and work as np whenever I have to (not np yet). Is this likely a possible lifestyle in Alaska? I grew really sick of living in big cities and want to live around no one yet enjoy the nature and fresh food!!!

That's what my husband wanted to do, minus the NP portion since he wasn't a nurse.

I used to live in Alaska. Super beautiful and tons to do (mainly during warm months). Of course I wasn't a nurse there so I can't attest to that, but where there are people there are (usually) hospitals.

You'll just have to do some searching on where nurses are needed because not every town has a hospital or facility that requires nurses.

Good luck on your adventure! I'd love to go back to live in Alaska but I couldn't handle being so far from my friends and family in the lower 48 :)

I'm sure big cities (or town?) like Anchorage and Juno have some hospitals, and they are all the main cities I know in Alaska haha. I know Alaska is also really big in fishing, hunting, and wild life, and I would really love that. Work as NP minimally and just enjoy time to myself out in the nature on a boat or in the mountains. I am pretty much set on moving there one day
