It's not a weird question at all.
In Northern California (San Jose area) There are a couple of ice facilities.
The Ice center in Downtown, (10th street) and an ice center in Cupertino
(on Wolfe road). There may even be on more in San Jose. You may also try the San Jose arena (HP Pavilion) as thats where the San Jose Sharks play (our hockey team).
All of these locations are easily close to the following hospitals
Community Hospital of Los Gatos
Good Samaritan Hospital
Santa Clara Valley Medical Center
These are a little further away
Stanford/ Lucile Packard Children's
El Camino Hospital
I know that all of the hospitals will and have used travel nurses in their Nicu's
Hope this helps...

My boyfriend and I would like to travel to California. I am a NICU nurse and he works in an Ice Rink( as a coach, zamboni driver, maintainence, etc.) So I was seeing, from people who live in Cali, if there are any ice rinks near a hospital. If so, which hospital? Do they take travel nurses?
