  2. I am in RN Residency doing my training in NICU. You are eligible if you haven't work as a RN after getting your license. I think it's better to call and talk to the nurse recruiter. There are always people who are willing to help. You never know.

In my country everybody gets an enema, shaved before giving birth. And we stay in the hospital for seven days after normal vag. delivery.(Paid maternity leave for a year). I had my second child here in US. Gave myself a nice enema before going to the hospital. I liked my OB Dr. too much to s.... on her. Dumitra
  4. I don't know much about the hospital, but the area is TERRIBLE! I would think twice working in Panorama City. Dumitra
  5. My husband and I used to be professional dancers. We traveled the whole world dancing. Our daughter was a backstage child. But when she started school we had to stop. She had to be in bad on time, homework to be done. So, I'm a nurse now. But I missed it soooo mach! Talk about sacrifices for your children! Dumitra, RN
  6. i'm doing ok. enjoying summer with my girls (10 and almost 2). well, trying to enjoy, is extremely hot here in la. i'm afraid is going to be very hard for me to find a job, since i’m foreign educated. i worked here in us as a ma for three years, but i don't think is going to help since it wasn’t in the hospital. i'm going to try to get into new graduate program to get a good training. first i need to find a very good daycare. i'm 31 and i understand what you're going thru. good luck with everything! dumitra, rn
  7. AmyD, where are you? My situation is very close to yours. Finished school ten years ago back in my country. Got my RN lisence in May. I'm gonna start looking for job in September wnen my kids will start school. I've been following you since you were getting ready for NCLEX. Got very happy for you when you got your job. How are doing? How is your orientation going?
  8. don't forget that the living here is very expensive. 25/hr. is not huge.
  9. er4u2, i'm interested in women's health so i got a npr certification and of course i got the bls cert. and i have a phlebotomy cert. i think it will help me to have all these on my resume. in regards to the contract, i don't think i have mach of the choice (being a foreign educated nurse with no experience in the hospital) i'll just be happy for somebody to be willing to give me a good training. i'm willing to learn everything. thank you for your replay.
  10. hi, i need to ask your advice. i finished nursing school ten years ago back in my country (didn't work as a nurse there). here in us i worked as a ma for three years before getting my rn license. what do you think are my chances of getting a job as a rn? i'm thinking to apply for a new grad program since i don't have an experience as a nurse. do you think they'll give me a chance? which hospital most likely will go for it in the burbank area?any advice will be very appreciated.
  11. TheCommuter, thank you for the information.
  12. I'm planning to move to Santa Clarita Valley. Does anybody know anything about Henry Mayo Memorial Hospital. Is it a good place to work? Are they paying good? And for the nurses living in that area, where do you work? Thank you!
