  1. Hey everyone, I just wanted to see if some of you peds nurses can just help me out. I have been a lvl 3 NICU nurse for 7 years now and I am deciding to float to the peds ER to just get a little different experience. I have my peds knowledge from school but other than that, I feel like I dont know anything. What I am asking for is just the basics. I need a list of meds you usually give and diagnoses you see. My brain is just NICU now and I just need a change. I will probably work like once every 2 weeks there but I want to feel comfortable. Also, any online sources I should look up that might help? Thanks so much!! Jackie
  2. Hey everyone, I am looking to see if you guys could help, especially you experienced RNs out there. The NICU I am currently working at has recently become a level 3 NICU. The problem is alot of our staff are not comfortable with Level 3 micros. I am trying to come up with a skills day from birth at the delivery to come to the room and admitting...and everything going wrong--you know, HFOV, chest tube, abruption, cold stress etc. Can you help me write up a worst case scenario for the nurses to go through? Any advice would be great! Thank you!!
  3. Hey everyone, Myself and my other coworkers are stuck in a situation right now. I am PRN at my hospital in the NICU. I have worked NICU for 4 years. Usually we are able to pick up whatever shifts we want. Well now that census has decreased and we dont know what to do. NICU is so specialized its hard to float somewhere. Anyone have any other PRN jobs and can offer some advice??
