Is a 'B' in A&P a deal breaker

Published

Short an 'A' by about 1%.

Was sick as a dog night before lab practical. Not graded yet, but I think I only got 2 questions correct. If I didn't show up it would be an automatic 0.

If I get 4% on it, my grade will drop down to an 'B'.

With 3 weeks left, it is too late to withdrawal.

Only 2 tests left that will not make grade difference.

That depends on which program you're applying for. At my school, your A&P grade accounts for 25% of your ranking score, so it's kind of a big deal. I don't know how common that is though, and you could still have a competitive GPA with good grades in all of your other pre reqs

I would loose 5 bonus points, a 6% drop from 88 bonus points.

I have all A's with 24 credits total, not including A&P.

If everyone else applying has 'A's in anatomy, not that encouraging prospects for spring application.

No. It is not.

No. It is not.

Thanks. Lab was last day before holiday. I will speak to someone at school about grades after holiday.

Keeping 4.0 would have been nice, but loosing grasp of 'A' in anatomy has me upset, considering the competitions.

If I got B's in nursing school I would be fine with that.

Happy Thanks giving! :)

Not at the school I attend.

Just depends how all your other grades are. I got a B in A&P I and I'm most likely going to end up with a B in A&P II. However, I have/had As in all the rest of my sciences and most pre-reqs, so it didn't effect me much

It depends. I feel really bad for new grads that are in such competitive systems. While grades are nice, some of the best nurses I've worked with would not have been nurses with today's requirements.

Depends on the competitiveness of nursing schools in your area. Some schools look at the applicant holistically so a B wouldnt blow your chances.

I wouldn't withdraw from the class this semester with the grade you have. The W will show on your transcripts.

Go forward and maybe meet with an academic advisor in the nursing department to see if you should retake it. Or apply to nursing school and if you're turned down, retake the class and try again.

Good day:

At the local community college I'm attending, an "A" in A&P 1 is worth 8 points, a "B" is worth 6 points. Depending on how close you need to be, it may or may not matter. Though our school also does GPA at time of application times 4 points for additional points based on one's overall GPA (max of 16 points).

Thank you.

A "B" is great in A&P where I go to school. It is a weeding out class after all. Most people can't even get a "C" and rejoice if they do end up with a "C". I got a "B" and was ecstatic.
