IRSC Spring 2016 hopefuls!

Published

Hello everyone. I'm currently enrolled in my last set of pre-reqs for the RN program. In my microbiology classs, I noticed there is high anxiety because the applicant pool looks strong this year and 90% of my class are nursing applicants. I would like to start a support group, for passing along information, questions, advice, or just emotional guidance. We can all be nurses. We can all do it. Let's help each other get there! Does anyone have any tips for the NLN exam? Unfortunately, I have class and cannot attend the free review sessions.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the tips and the well wishing. Yes I am nervous! But I'm going to try my best and pray it works out ...I'll post my score as well. Good or bad. It may help the next person.

So I just took my NLN today and got 134. Im still waiting on my transcripts to be reviewed but I have all A's and B's in my A&P 1 &2 and Micro all with labs. So whatever points that is. I'm really nervous to see if i get accepted. From what I've seen, my scores seem to be the bottom of the individuals that get accepted. I really hope I can make this work. This is my first time applying and im transferring from Keiser.I've been working on this for so long. Does anyone know how long before you find out if you get accepted? The NLN was quite difficult with questions I wasn't really expecting. It consisted of ALOT of fractions and percentages along with wavelengths and amplitudes.

From my understanding, it's about 6 weeks from the deadline date. No later than the beginning of October. I'm sure that's a great score, just try to think positive. The way to total your class points is to multiply the credits by the grade. A=4, B =3, C=2, D= 1...so for a lab, if you received an A, you would multiply 4x1....etc. I really hope you get in. I know it's stressful

Does anyone know how long it takes to graduate the program? I have all courses already including Nutrition, A&P 1&2 and Micro.

Roughly two years. Because you can only take the bulk of the nursing courses (NUR) during the Fall and Spring semesters. So that's 4 semesters. In the summers, you can take whatever additional co-reqs you need, or you can get a head start on the Bachelor's pre-reqs ....

I already took all my co-reqs. I will have my AA by the end of this semester. Do you know by chance what the Bachelor Pre-reqs are? Them seem to be different everywhere I look. Im using my GI Bill and only have 15 months worth of benefits left. Im trying to plan it out so I can afford anything left and plan for the time I wont be in school so I can find a job part time.

Well, for the Bachelor's, you need STA2023 and MAC1105 (Statistics, and College Algebra), along with whatever nursing reqs are left for the degree.. I understand what you mean, but I would take the BSN pre-reqs in between. And hotels are good places to work part-time!

Sydney, did you take your test yet??? I am going Tuesday! Looking over the material this weekend. Ill keep you posted on my score! :)

I'm going Tuesday too! I wish you the absolute best of luck! How do you feel about it?

Sydney I am feeling OK about it. Not really sure lol! I wish you the best of luck too! I don't know why I just feel nervous about it. Going to try and relax! Good luck! Keep me posted :)

Good luck to anyone testing this week. Deadline is quickly approaching. I took my test on Monday the 17th and my Health Science application was updated today, Monday 8/24. Fast turn around. My overall points are 158 :) Praying that will be enough. Good luck again to everyone.
