Hello everyone. I'm currently enrolled in my last set of pre-reqs for the RN program. In my microbiology classs, I noticed there is high anxiety because the applicant pool looks strong this year and 90% of my class are nursing applicants. I would like to start a support group, for passing along information, questions, advice, or just emotional guidance. We can all be nurses. We can all do it. Let's help each other get there! Does anyone have any tips for the NLN exam? Unfortunately, I have class and cannot attend the free review sessions.
Kristine, Are you going to IRSC this semester and getting financial aid? If so, you could loose your financial aid if you change your major to Nursing without first being accepted into the program.
Yes, you will not be rewarded financial aid if you change your major to ASN or BSN without first being accepted into the program.
Does anyone know how long the LPN course is a IRSC? Do you have to complete the entire course before you are guaranteed acceptance to the RN program, and if you have your LPN how much of that counts toward your RN credits? Does financial aid cover LPN? Sorry for all the questions, but I know someone here has the answers! TIA

The PN Program is offered at the Main Campus as a 1 Year program with classes approximately 35 hours per week. Approximate cost $5100 including tuition, books, uniforms state board exam fee, background check, labs etc (everything). Not sure (60% sure) i think only 15 credits count towards your RN degree. Yes covered by financial aid and yes you have to complete the whole course before acceptance into RN in other words they wont let you do both together. I hope this helps
Did you apply for both LPN and RN programs? I have not seen too many posts on here in regards to LPN NLN scores. I got a 136, and 12.9's on the tabe test. Trying to get an idea of how many students applied to the LPN program this term, and what their NLN scores were. This was my first time taking that test so I am not clear on what an acceptance score is for that program. :)

Not sure if you are referring to me or Ashley, but if its me. No i only applied to the RN program i am already a LPN. That score is very good if its your raw score for LPN program. I think your in. But yeah seems like the prospective LPN did not create a forum this time around. Not much of them are posting, I dont know why.
I did not apply for both.. your scores are great, especially for the LPN from what I understand. I got a 130 on the NLN for RN.. so I'm just not sure where I stand either.. I have a total of 162, which seems to be middle of the road and could go either way.. so I am just trying to prepare for all possibilities. I don't know if I want to spend a whole year on LPN... mostly because I'm old..lol I guess I'll just see how it goes and go from there..
Ashley, 162 is a great score, even the past 2 groups, scores of 144 was accepted. I know it depends on the pool etc but 162 is a great score if compared to the past 4 groups before this. Based on track record nobody with 162 was denied thus far and i dont think it will happen this time. I think you are in great standings girl. Keep the faith!

Even if you wanted to apply, the deadline for LPN has passed.

That's what I thought. I was just wondering because everyone keeps saying "letters." :)
