IRSC spring 2014 hopefuls!

Published

Hello all! I just wanted to start a topic for those of us applying to the 2014 ADN program at IRSC. I am so excited to finish my prerequisites and apply! LetsAll compare our application processes and wait to hear back from the program together! My names is Emily and I am taking a&p1 and micro this summer, then taking the NLN in August and submitting my app!

Tell me about yourself !

I was stressing hard before I took it. It was quite a relief to have it over with. We are all definitely in the same boat. Good luck tomorrow!!!

Thanks, about to do a practice exam. I will let you guys know how I did tomorrow. My husband is taking me out for lunch after the exam, giving me some motivation to do well. I want to go to his job and show him a great score, so we have reason to celebrate :).

How do we know which shots to get? Is there a list? Can we get the shots at a health dept.? Is that offered here?

Yes, follow this link, look on the right for "Physical Exam Form"

Registered Nurse (R.N.) Program

:)

Finally finished. Scored a 146, which gives me a total of 178. Waiting to talk to an advisor now to check on my college placement and computer competency.

Awesome Jen915!! Congrats :)

I am so upset I got a 107 on the NLN and it makes my total a 137 I am really hoping its enough to get me in but it doesn't seem like it will be. What do you guys think?

Wow! Seems like we have a strong group of applicants. I got a 138 on the NlN giving me an overall score of 170. I noticed some of you have said your application was updated, my application still is lacking my computer competency, microbiology class and NLN score. Does anyone know if they update before deadline? I am going to shoot them an email just in case. I would hate to not get over a technicality.

Earlier, Robin said they only update on Monday around 6 am, but since the application deadline is Thursday, I don't know if that would still apply... Let us know what response you get from your email :) congrats on the 170! I have a 168, so we are all doing pretty good :) I think we all have a solid chance of acceptance.. I'm pretty excited!

I still have my computer competency and college placement missing. I went to the nursing department today and was told that they only update on Mondays but that they might be behind since they have to manually input it. They also told me to check with an advisor who told me I am fine with both. They will still input after the deadline. I just took my NLN today so that doesn't show yet either.

If you feel like your score is too low you can always try the LPN program and reapply or try out another School, Keiser maybe. I am not sure about the scores only because it varies from semester to semester. I would say that it is decent and could very well get you a spot even if it is an alternate slot. Best of luck to you.

I took the NLN today and scored a 124, not as high as I was expecting but I have a 156 total for application score. I'm crossing my fingers that it's high enough to get in, as it seems most people have an average of around 170. Good luck to all.
