IRSC spring 2014 hopefuls!

Published

Hello all! I just wanted to start a topic for those of us applying to the 2014 ADN program at IRSC. I am so excited to finish my prerequisites and apply! LetsAll compare our application processes and wait to hear back from the program together! My names is Emily and I am taking a&p1 and micro this summer, then taking the NLN in August and submitting my app!

Tell me about yourself !

Thanks for letting me know. I will drop it until then.

I took the CPR class a few months back just to get it off my list... I'm sure it'll be fine... the renewal isn't hard :)

I only asked because I saw on the Fall 2013 thread that some people had to retake it even though their certification was still good for awhile. They said the reason was that the nursing dept. didn't want to keep track of renewals. As much as I really want to get some of requirements out of the way, I'm just going to wait.

Let's hope not :roflmao: I may go crazy LOL!

Hey everyone, I contacted the nursing department about the approaching deadline and the out of date applications and they informed me that they double check all applications so I guess we can worry a bit less.

Tlilavois... What do you mean by "out of date" applications?

Applications that are not updated such as mine. My applicationdoes not include my nln score or computer competency even though I have both of them.

My application status is not updated either. I keep checking. I also still have my NLN, computer competency and college placement missing. But I checked with the nursing department and 3 different advisors and they all told me that I am fine for the college placement and computer. The nursing department told me they manually put it in and that's why it takes awhile. I guess that is one of the reasons why we have to wait a couple of weeks before we know who gets accepted.

I get so nervous thinking I'm missing something... It just seems like we should have had to physically turn something in... I would just die if I weren't accepted because of a technicality! Not a high enough score, I could accept, but a missing document would really hurt!

Ugh I'm so anxious and the deadline is not even here yet!!!

Does anyone know how long the actual program takes to complete? It says 2 years but I plan on having All classes (not the actual nursing ones) done before the program. I seen they don't do classes over the summer. I looked at the list of classes & technically I would only have 4 classes to complete in program (the nursing ones). Could that be done in 1 year? Just curious :)

No, it is still 24 months. Each class is one semester and you can not move on to one until you have completed the course prior. So if you start spring 2014 we should be done at the end of fall 2015
