Hello all! I just wanted to start a topic for those of us applying to the 2014 ADN program at IRSC. I am so excited to finish my prerequisites and apply! LetsAll compare our application processes and wait to hear back from the program together! My names is Emily and I am taking a&p1 and micro this summer, then taking the NLN in August and submitting my app!
Tell me about yourself !
My neighbor is a cardiac instructor at IRSC. She said that they accept 120 students between the three campuses that offer the nursing program (Main, Chastain & Okee). They just started this last year. Seems like better odds of getting in that when it was 70. My fingers, toes and everything else that can cross is crossed! I hope I've done enough to get in! The waiting is driving me crazy... I'm sure all of you too. Have a good night girls :)
She said they started taking 120 last year. She just moved in to my neighborhood last month, so I don't know her very well. I had only heard about 70 and I'm not sure how they choose what campus... It's almost as if this program is top secret LOL! I have a ton of questions that I don't find answers too... I am not saying it is 'so', but she is an instructor there, so I would hope she knows what she's talking about :)
I actually heard about the change in program to multiple campuses as well from a nursing adjunct at IRSC a few months ago. I called the nursing dept earlier today for some questions I had and brought this up and the woman said it is 70 students accepted, no more than that.
on a side note, I am taking nln this week, any chance a calculator is allowed? Can I bring scrap paper?

That is what I did. Created a username and password (take it with you to the test in case you forget it). You need to pay for the test in person at any campus and take that receipt with you along with your RN application receipt and photo I.D.. Then you are set. You cannot schedule a time in advance, you just have to show up. First come first serve. Good luck!
