IRSC spring 2014 hopefuls!

U.S.A. Florida

Hello all! I just wanted to start a topic for those of us applying to the 2014 ADN program at IRSC. I am so excited to finish my prerequisites and apply! LetsAll compare our application processes and wait to hear back from the program together! My names is Emily and I am taking a&p1 and micro this summer, then taking the NLN in August and submitting my app!

Tell me about yourself !

That is what I did. Created a username and password (take it with you to the test in case you forget it). You need to pay for the test in person at any campus and take that receipt with you along with your RN application receipt and photo I.D.. Then you are set. You cannot schedule a time in advance, you just have to show up. First come first serve. Good luck!

Thank you so much Stephanie!!

Hey everyone. I took the NLN exam and scored a 138, which leaves me with an overall score of 170. Does anyone know where the scores typically range since the new point system was implemented?

My neighbor is a cardiac instructor at IRSC. She said that they accept 120 students between the three campuses that offer the nursing program (Main, Chastain & Okee). They just started this last year. Seems like better odds of getting in that when it was 70. My fingers, toes and everything else that can cross is crossed! I hope I've done enough to get in! The waiting is driving me crazy... I'm sure all of you too. Have a good night girls :)

Ok, thanks I know it hasn't been that long, but I would be so upset if a computer glitch got in the way of me being accepted. I will be patient a little bit longer. But if it doesn't show up by next week I will have to call.

That is great news about three campus'. How do they decide which campus you attend classes at?

Hey everyone! I took my test on the 22nd and got a 132. I was kind of suprised for my first time taking it, and only having studied for a couple days. My overall score is a 164. The longer and longer I wait, the more nervous I get!

When did they start accepting more? I went to the info session in may and they said they still are only taking 70, but were thinking about opening another program at the vero campu soon.I never heard about chastain and okechobee!

She said they started taking 120 last year. She just moved in to my neighborhood last month, so I don't know her very well. I had only heard about 70 and I'm not sure how they choose what campus... It's almost as if this program is top secret LOL! I have a ton of questions that I don't find answers too... I am not saying it is 'so', but she is an instructor there, so I would hope she knows what she's talking about :)

I actually heard about the change in program to multiple campuses as well from a nursing adjunct at IRSC a few months ago. I called the nursing dept earlier today for some questions I had and brought this up and the woman said it is 70 students accepted, no more than that.

on a side note, I am taking nln this week, any chance a calculator is allowed? Can I bring scrap paper?

They do not allow calculators. You can't take anything into the testing room, but they will supply you with paper and pencils to use :)

No calculator and Scrap paper is provided. You can't take anything into the testing room with you.
