IRSC spring 2014 hopefuls!

Hello all! I just wanted to start a topic for those of us applying to the 2014 ADN program at IRSC. I am so excited to finish my prerequisites and apply! LetsAll compare our application processes and wait to hear back from the program together! My names is Emily and I am taking a&p1 and micro this summer, then taking the NLN in August and submitting my app!

Question: Does anyone know if I need CPR before I can apply to the program? I know it use to be a requirement but now it's not on the checklist on the application but I heard from someone you still need it? Thanks! :)

No you don't need it before applying. If you get accepted you need to have it done before classes start.

Hi everyone,

I have applied to the IRSC ADN program for Spring 2014 as well. I took my NLN on the 22 and my combined score is 183. I feel pretty confident, but I think the wait to find out if we get in is going to kill me. I am so looking forward to getting started!!!

I believe you have to have it before you start the program... so in this case, before January... That is my understanding. I took it a month or so ago, to get it off my checklist.

Does anyone know how long it takes after the Sept. 5th deadline before we will be notified of acceptance or not?

It says 6-8 weeks after the deadline. There is a mandatory orientation on Nov.15th for accepted and alternate students. Good Luck.

I have a question for those of you who have already taken your NLN. Does your score show up on your application? If so, how long did it take before it showed up? I took my test on the 22, and it is still not showing on my application.

I had to call and ask that question. I was told a week...or longer. But I took my test on the 23rd of July and the score showed up yesterday. Might have been a fluke though. I called and emailed several times to ask if there was anything else I needed to do in order for it to show on the application status, but it eventually showed up.

I am another Spring hopeful. I scored a 107 on my NLN and my overall score is a 130. I am not confident that it will be enough but I am still hopeful. Is there anyone else who's score is around the same as mine?

Good afternoon all. For those of you that have already taken the NLN, how did you "register" to take the test? I went on the NLN site and created a user name and password. Is this what they mean by register or do I need to do something else? Thanks!!
