IRSC Fall 2014 Hopefuls!

U.S.A. Florida

Hey everyone! I know this is super early to be talking about the fall semester but I just got my denial letter for the Spring 2014 semester so I wanted to make this group for anyone that's applying or didn't make it in like me. I got a 109 score on my NLN exam which makes my total points for program 130. I took A&P I & Micro which accounts for my points. I would like to retake the NLN in 6 months & hopefully I can do much better. I'm currently enrolled in A&P II & plan on just studying my butt off for the nln in the process. Classes I have left before I'm done with all my "pre-requisites" are A&P II (which I'm currently in), Chemistry, and Nutrition. (which I plan on taking those in spring/summer). Maybe we can get a study group together eventually if anyone is interested! Best of luck to everyone! :)

I haven't applied or taken my NLN yet :/

I called the campus today cause I need to get my login to figure out exact date when I took my NLN last. I know I can re-take it in March (have to wait 6 months), so once I take it I'll apply. Not sure if i want to re-take test or just keep my old score. I got a 109, which is ok but not great, but i'm not too confident I'll get a better score. So we'll see.

You never know. If the pool isn't as strong this time you might just make it. At least that's what I am hoping for, lol. The English part of the NLN messed up my overall score :(

I am SO nervous :nailbiting:

For those of you who have taken the NLN before, how long would you say someone should study before taking the test? Honestly I haven't studied as much as I think should have been even though the practice questions in the study guide don't seem extremely hard..

I went to the meeting last night and spoke to a woman who took the NLN yesterday. She said it wasn't that hard and got a 120.. but I'm still really nervous to take it. I haven't studied that much!

So all we need to apply is the health application and the NLN and everything else like shot records, proof of health insurance, cpr class, and etc. is needed AFTER acceptance?

Hello All! I am applying for Fall as well and so excited to get things going. Has anyone taken NLN yet? What scores did you get? Is anyone applying to any other schools besides IRSC?

Yes, all we need to do is Health Application and take the NLN. Shot records, CPR, etc will all be needed AFTER acceptance.

I read on another thread that we have to register for the NLN on some website? I figured we just had to go to the school, pay, and take the test...

I didn't sign up online I just applied for the health application online - brought proof I paid & went to campus & paid for NLN test & they gave me no issue.

Thanks Jessika!

This thread has been pretty quite compared to the previous applicant threads. With the application deadline so close maybe there aren't as many people applying this semester

Wouldn't that be wonderful?!? Just had a quick question. I was planning on taking 2 3-credit classes for summer one and summer two. However, I have a full time job, but it is pretty flexible, and a family. Am I taking on too much? It has been a little while since I last attended classes. Or is the work load doable?

Hi all, I'm also applying for the Fall 2014 admissions into the RN program, and my name is Chuck. I have 27 points in the classes, so I figure if I can get around a 140 I will feel pretty comfortable. I've taken all the practice tests in the NLN prep book and have an average of 145 so I think I will be fine. I'm taking the test Wednesday so that gives me one more day to prepare, if anyone on here wants my book after I will be happy to loan it to you. Good luck everyone!
