IRSC ADN Program Spring 2012

Published

Hello Everybody!!

I'm applying for the 2-year ADN program (starting Spring 2012) and thought it would be helpful to start a thread and conversate with other ADN hopefuls!

I have nearly all of the pre-reqs completed (except for Chemistry) with all A's and 2 B's, and I'm also currently studying like a mad woman for the NLN exam, which I will be taking in the next month or so.....It would be great to hear back from other applicants (and students already in the program) to see how my stats (and others) match up.

Thanks and good luck :)

Just took my NLN today and my final point total comes to 193 out of a possible 219. I'm missing Chemistry so I'm crossing my fingers that my score is good enough :)

Anybody know what the cutoff point or average point total for people accepted to the program for Spring 2011?

Good Morning mynameisjay! If you don't mind me asking, what was your composite score on the NLN?

I applied to the fall class while still completing Micro and A&P2, if you are applying with courses in progress, it is so many points that you likely will not make it into the spring class. I had 172 points,(204 after the grades posted) and had heard previous class was high 100's (184 was only score I heard from someone accepted). Ended up being over 200 pts for those accepted to the fall class (I've heard 202 but not sure if that was official cut-off). Just keep studying and working toward your goals and apply next time. I had 99% on the NLN, just looked and I guess I have 154 on the new scoring report, so my total will be 259 points under the new scoring. Good luck everyone!

Good job pc2801. If you get a 99% on nln does that mean ur composite score is 154?Pretty sure u will get accepted with 259 points. I am behind you with 249 so I hope it is good enough. Good luck.

Hi Sunshine! My overall score was 134 which falls into the 94th precentile according to the chart on the nln website.

That's awesome mynameisjay!!! Great scores!! You'll be good I think!! Now it's just a waiting game!! Good Luck to you all!

I believe that 200 is the maximum points on the new NLN score reporting. From what I read most scores will be between 50 and 150, so I'm assuming this is the typical "bell curve" of scores.

I just looked today to see if my points had been updated. Looks like they are still using the percentile for NLN score for the applications.

pc2801, does that mean that your points HAVE been updated?

I verified that the scores are being updated manually since there was a new scoring. You will not see updated overall points online.

My points were updated as far as the courses I completed in the spring term are now reflected. Last week it still showed the points I had from when I applied to the Fall cohert. NLN scores were not updated, but I see Sunshine has posted information that they will not be seen online.

Well...I keep checking this thread, and it seems that everyone is waiting quietly and patiently...
