Hi everyone! I just thought I'd start the new State forums off with an introduction thread. Please feel free to reply to this thread if you wish. Otherwise, feel free to start a new topic if you wish to discuss other topics that are local or state related. Enjoy!

Hello everyone!

Best of luck to you in school. Just remember to keep your chin up and grades (although nice to get an A) aren't everything. I graduated from high school (in 1990) with honors but only got a 3. something in nursing school. It is hard but once you're done you'll be giving yourself the biggest pat on the back.

thanks for the support.....need to keep the grade thing in check.....so thanks for the reminder!

Northwest wisconsin here, rice lake, work as occupational health nurse, no weekends, no holidays, lifes good

Welcome to the board. I am curious, how many years of nursing did you need to do the job you do? How many years of schooling did you complete? I am a newer nurse, one year of service and going...... wondering how long it will take to get into a clinic or some sort of day job. Love the nursing that I do, just would like some normalcy with the schedule.....

Hi, I graduated in 1992 from Missouri Southern State College in Joplin, MO with and ADN. I then worked in Ortho-Neuro in Billings MT a year and now have more than 10 years on a Medicare unit in LTC/SNF with experience on all three shifts and also as nurse manager on the Alzheimer's unit. I have found my niche,(night shift) but get frustrated with co-workers and bad attitudes at times. I was born and raised in N. Central IA and have lived in several different states, but the longest here in beautiful southwestern WI. I have taken legal nurse course, but not gotten to work any cases yet. Have also applied to do assessments for long-term care insurance. Always looking to learn and am investigating on-line classes to get my BSN.

Hello all:

I just signed up to start a cna class hopefully in the next 5-6 weeks. I am a 52 year old man planning on completing cna training and certification first then either a 1 year accelerated RN program through Fox Valley technical school

or an LPn program. I have a Bachelors degree in education and human services 1990 U.W. Oshkosh.

so I have some hope that some of my earlier college coursework will minimize the pre-reqs I need. I got my Bachelors degree as a non-traditional student so I have a pretty good idea of what I need to do to make this newest change. My name is Mike and the folks I read on this board sound like a good bunch si I thought I would introduce myself and get to know you all a little.

My name is Kelley and I live in Milwaukeeintroduction

Hi-

I am in desparate need of help to take care of my grandmother. I do not know where to find what I am looking for so I turned to the internet for a possible solution... Maybe this will be the right place????

I am looking for either a live (with time off) in or a staff of 2-4 people to take alternating 24 hour shifts to provide private Nursing or CNA assistance for my 82 year old grandma.

I am flexible on salary and what can be included. She is in a nursing home (yuk~!) right now. I would like to find an apartment either 2 or 3 bedroom in the Waukesha WI area. She is a diabetic with multi-infarct dementia and other mental health disorders who needs tender loving one-on-one care. Right now she is a one-person assist but her health is deteriorating quickly. Please email me at [email protected] if you would be interested in helping or know someone who may be. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Hi everyone! My name is Jeff and I am in my 2nd semester of clinicals. I work in the lab at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital but I am waiting to hear if I got a 3rd shift CNA job in the ICU. Because I am in an evening (part-time) clinical track I won't graduate until 12-2005. I am glad to see other Wisconsin people here.

GO PACKERS :)

When are we going to get a Major League Baseball team in the state?! :p :uhoh21:

you may want to try visiting Angels, or Home Instead. I know they offer services in waukesha County, not sure about Milwaukee, but it sounds like something that may help. Good Luck!

Hi all,

I am a RN at ST Joe's in Marshfield WI and work in the OR. It is very challenging work and has its pros and cons. I've done everything from scrubbing, educator role, scheduling, management, and now work FT nights as the Charge RN with a ST. The slow nights are great to get work done (I still do the scheduling) but the busy nights are just that........BUSY:rotfl:
