Hi everyone! I just thought I'd start the new State forums off with an introduction thread. Please feel free to reply to this thread if you wish. Otherwise, feel free to start a new topic if you wish to discuss other topics that are local or state related. Enjoy!

Specializes in Nursing Assistant/ Army Medic, LVN.

Hello Everybody!! :)

I'm a mid-twenties young man hoping to get out of the dead-end job I've been stuck in for the last 7 1/2 years.

I start CNA class in Oct., so I'm looking forward to that.

Finding an Associate program without a 2-3 year wait list is proving difficult, but I'll keep pluggin' away 'till I get in somewhere!!

I plan to earn LPN/RN status before I quit my job. Hopefully at that point, I'll be able to make enough money to feed myself and my cat, and put myself through the next level of schooling.

(I'm NOT in this for the money, but I DO have to eat!!)

Anyway, I'm glad to have found this awesome resource! Maybe I'll even meet some of you in person one of these days. (Somewhere between Sheboygan and Milwaukee)

Nursing is a great place to be right now, and we can always use more men in nursing. Good luck in your career

Hi. I'm from eastern WI also. I have read these forums for months, but never took the time to register. So today I did. Nice to meet you all!

Hi, I'm from central Wisconsin "where up north begins". Looking forward to starting BSN completion on-line this fall. Nice to see there are so many Wisconsin nurses on this site.

Specializes in Counseling Service, Children's Pastor.

Hi everyone! I'm an LPN in La Crosse, WI. I work in a residential AODA facility for women (not as a nurse necessarily, but it comes in handy). I'm also on call at a nursing home. I just started Excelsior College through Chancellor's to get my RN. Couldn't bear the thought of nursing school again.

Guess that's all I have to say for now.

hi everyone,

"mac"

Specializes in telemetry, oncology, med/surg.

IM a traveler originally from milwaukee. Went to Marquette University and got the itch to travel. But, that is ok, because my heart will always be made of cheese, and my shirt will always be green on game day.

I live West of the Milwaukee Metro area and work in Milwaukee. I have been a nurse since 1978. Great to see a Wisconsin board.
