Started working in the Milwaukee area 1 year ago. Lots of Hospitals, lots of job opportunities, pay not that good, age discrimination in an era of nursing shortage?! Anyone else out there from this area? Terrina

So glad to see so many neighbors here! I live in Sheboygan but work in Milwaukee (Yep, quite a drive !) Work for a Medicare Program Safeguard Contractor doing fraud investigation work. Background includes many years in the ER and Home Health.

Im from the small town of Markesan Wisconsin. I graduated in Dec of 03 and worked in Beaver Dam wisconsin for one year then accepted a position at Ripon Medical Center in Ripon Wisconsin where I work in the ED.

I hope to get to know more nurses from Wisconsin.

Welcome to the board. I am curious, how many years of nursing did you need to do the job you do? How many years of schooling did you complete? I am a newer nurse, one year of service and going...... wondering how long it will take to get into a clinic or some sort of day job. Love the nursing that I do, just would like some normalcy with the schedule.....

I am an LPN, have worked in occ health for 25 years, got lucky and got a job in a small factory, picked up education as I went along, I also worked in a clinic (pay sucks) but got good experience in ortho. Just keep applying for clinic jobs, I don't know where your from but marshfield and midlefort mayo always seem to have openings, though I see they are starting to hire a lot of MA's

Hobbies: Packers (go go team...I finally realized my dream in going to Lambeau Field...even better because they were 1st row seats and got them at cost woot), chasing after my kids and animals. Nursing student currently on track to graduate in May '05.
