How about a thread that will allow us to introduce ourselves to those who are new and the new students can do the same.

I am Stephany, 42, mother of 3 children, a son 22, a daughter 15, and a son 13. I am an LPN of nearly 11 years, and I am in my first semester of a five-semester rn program.

Care to share?

Kathy,

You'll be fine. You know that you are not alone here as far as the stress goes. Stay strong, you're almost there!!!!

Hi my name is Lorri. I have been an LPN for five years and currently studying for my final exam in Excelsior's ADN program. I am a mother of a total of 7...I gave birth to three. I would like to hear from anyone, especially those of you who have completed a home study "accelerated" clinical...I'm getting sort of anxious about that which should take place sometime before july. hope to hear for you all!!!! thanks

Hi there. First post for me.

My name is Claudia. I am 30 year olds and I have twin 6 year olds who were born at 27 weeks. They are my inspiration to wanting to be a RN. I am taking Micro right now, the last prerequisite for my CC. I also applied to San Jose State and will go wherever I can get in as all the programs in the area are very impacted. Hope to hear from others.:nurse:

hi claudia...it seems as though you are a busy woman just as i am. :uhoh3: i wish you much luck in finding a college that works with your schedule...excelsior distance learning has been great for me because i was able to go at my own pace and continue to take care of home and work. I also went through the problem of being on waiting lists for some time before making the decision to enroll with excelsior.

:D

Hi,

I'm 34, married with 3 kids. Being older has definitely been an asset. You have so many life experiences to pull from that you will have an advantage over traditional students. At least this has been my experience.
