How about a thread that will allow us to introduce ourselves to those who are new and the new students can do the same.

I am Stephany, 42, mother of 3 children, a son 22, a daughter 15, and a son 13. I am an LPN of nearly 11 years, and I am in my first semester of a five-semester rn program.

I already hold a bachelor of science and a master of arts degrees in communications and want to pursue my career in nursing. are there any online options as my time is a bit limited?? i have to work while going to school and would like to complete my degree as quickly as possible and would be available in the evenings/ weekends to take courses. is it better to get my adn, my lpn or cna??????

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, my name is Jean and I am 39 years old and will be starting CSU East Bay (Concord Campus) in September for their BSN program. I have been happily married for 17 (next month will be 18) years and I have a 14 (going on 30) year old son. This will be my second career as I have worked for a bank for over 20 years. I have always wanted to be a nurse and I am just so happy to get accepted into a nursing program after so many years of prerequisites. I am taking my last prerequisite final on Tuesday.

Hi Everyone! My name is Suzanne, screen name prudentstudent. I'm 43, married and live in New England near the shore. I have two sons in college and a 12 year old daughter at home. I just finished my second of 4 semesters for my ADN ~ will graduate May 2008! Wishing all of you the best. My main goal is to learn from Jesus what it is to be a compassionate caregiver, as He is the best!

Hi, I'm Jen, I am 36, mother of 2, involved in everything and a pre-nursing student. I am finishing up my last 2 pre-req's and then onto the waiting list for CCRI. I am enrolled in the weekend program, hopefully starting in Sept. 08. Anyone else? Anyone know about the schedule for that program?

Hi, I'm Amy. I am 35 and have been attending Ivy Tech Lafayette in hopes of getting into the nursing program there for 1 year.

Acceptance letter came today, so I am in, which is great.

This site is wonderful and has meant the world to me in the planning process.

Thank you to everyone!

Hi everyone!

I just noticed that I haven't posted an introduction...duh!

I am 34, mother of three ages 14, 10, and 5. I have been married for 16 years on June 10. I started college and took most of my pre-nursing classes from 1998-2001, then I became pregnant with my son. I decided to put everything off until he was in school. Now, he'll be in school all day next year and I was accepted on my first try to a highly competitive program for August 2007 and I am extremely proud of myself! I am beginning to get a little nervous about juggling everything, but I figure that if I couldn't do it, then I probably wouldn't have been accepted anyway. I'm a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. I think this site will be one of my lifelines!

Anyway, hello to all! :)

hi everyone,

I am 37 yrs old , married with 3 kids- 11, 9 and 7. This will be my second degree. I had work very hard getting a high GPA on my prerequisite courses to get a good chance of geeting into a nursing program. I just got accepted to 3 nursing schools and I'm having a hard time deciding which one to choose. All the same, I am looking foward to starting school in August. My husband is alraedy bracing himself to be a "single father" , but he knows there is a bright light shinning at the end of the tunnel. Good luck everyone!

Hello to the 215,840 allnurses members!! I am 29 years old. My sweet husband and I have been married for over 6 years, no kids yet and I'll be in my fourth year of BSN this June. I've been too shy to post messages before so I hope to meet some nursing students and nurses to share experiences with and all. I've been rotated in the E.R. and O.R. and I can already see myself working for either of these areas in the near future. I am also interested in being an CRNI (if my brain and hands can still take it). I love this website and I love to read that I’m not alone in what I’ve been going through as a nursing student. More power to the allnurses team and members!!!

I am 20 year old male getting into the last 2 years (the actual nursing school part), I'm nervously excited. Single, I am still pretty much a kid getting into his career.

Hey everyone, I am 22 yr old 3rd semester nursing student of ADN. It's a four semester program and planning to finish up in May 2008. I'll actually be starting 3rd semester in August and I am very nervous because the last two semesters has been very cruel (sigh). Thankfully I am not married or have any kids so I have all the time in the world to spend on my studies. Best of luck!!!!

Hi Everyone!

I am a busy mom with four kids, ranging from age 2 - 19. I've wanted to be a L&D nurse since the day my first child was born! I returned to school about a year and a half ago, finishing up prerequisites. I just received my acceptance letter last Friday and will be attending nursing school this fall! I'm excited and nervous... Anyone have advice in juggling school and family? I've done well so far, but I'm nervous that nursing school will just be more intense. Anyone know of good scholarship resources?

I look forward to chatting with you!

Jessica here 2 kids (7 and 1)...last semester this fall..thank god :)
