How about a thread that will allow us to introduce ourselves to those who are new and the new students can do the same.

I am Stephany, 42, mother of 3 children, a son 22, a daughter 15, and a son 13. I am an LPN of nearly 11 years, and I am in my first semester of a five-semester rn program.

Care to share?

Hi my name is Alicia soon to be 31. I have 2 children and a wonderful hubbie. I start my first semester on August 28!!

Specializes in LTC, Medical/Surgical.

Hi, I'll go by shlru0404. I am currently employed as Clinical Assist on a TCU of a rural hospital in southern Idaho. I do carry my NREMT-P and am transitioning into RN second year in Jan 2007. I am almost 40 with 2 kids and 6 step kids for total of 8(wow that sounds like a lot). My career related interests are critical care, oncology, and rehab nursing areas while personal interests are softball and horses. I am from California originally, but find Idaho a peaceful change. I hope to find people with similar interests and experiences to share my nursing joys and sorrows with. My hubby does concrete and he don't much care for my career stuff. I think it is cause he just don't understand it all. He finds way too many abbreviations for his liking. Blessings to all...

Hello my name is Christy. Start ADN program August 15th.

HI,

I'm Kayla. I'm a new student. I'm a sophomore in college and i messed up my freshman year and now i'm paying. I dropped biology the first time. The second time i passed the lecture but got a D in the lab but i need a C. So now i have to retake it. I feel like a failure. And i was going to take chem but my advisor suggested me not to. So now i'm stuck with take Chem (+ lab), Bio lab, A and P (+ lab). I hope i make it in the nursing program so i can graduate in 2009 with a BSN!

I'm Amy, 38-year-old married mom of three--15, 8, 5. I start my 2nd semester of ADN program in a few weeks and graduate in December, 2007. Three more semesters. There's light at the end of the tunnel!

Started from square one four years ago--5 1/2 years to a 2 1/2 year degree. Woo hoo! :chuckle I'm blessed with VERY supportive hubby & friends, especially my nursing school friends.

Looking forward to good exchanges & great advice from this board. ;)

Hello I am wondering if any of you can recommend to me a good 9 month LPN program located in the metro New York area. I am possibly relocating to NY this Nov and I am not sure how to go about locating an accrediated LPN program. Any help you can render would be greatly appreciated!
