Hello,
I'm a single mom also (4 mth boy) and I'm starting my pre reqs in the fall. Just wanted to know if it was hard for you to go to school. I'm really looking forward to starting school but I'm a little worried about going to school full-time and working part-time. I know it's going to be hard, I guess I would just like to hear someone eles' experience.
Thank you
hello and welcome! you are so blessed to have a beautiful baby. i am going into my 2nd semester of an ADN program and i am a single parent. i think that the pre-reqs were better as far as scheduling, because i got to choose what class times to attend. that way i could schedule it around my son and a part-time job. as far as nursing school goes i couldn't pick the times (except for night classes) so i had to have people there that could take care of my son. and i dont work now, just get financial aide. but as far as i can see you still have some time with your pre-reqs to work and let your baby get a lil older. just make sure that when you enter nursing school that you have some kind of support system to help with your child if it comes up, and you should do great. a lot of people goes thru this process having children, so you are not alone. God bless!
my name is yvette, i will be starting in the fall (2006) on my prereq's as well, i am 36, with two kids (7),(15) and a husband (on the road alot), so i am going to try and do all of my prereq's online at our local community college. i am just wondering if i am getting in over my head. wondering if i am to old, trying to start a nursing career(which bye the way is something i have always wanted to do but just kept running):chair: .
just need some insite.

Hey Anna....I hear ya about clinicals. I am also very nervous - not sure what to expect and just hope I do ok without mistakes. I am taking the summer off as I have been in school three summers in a row. I feel like I owe it to my kids to spend some time w/them without my nose in a book (well at least during the day).
Enjoy your summer...
